Tevez has blamed Berbatov for leaving Utd, it was a mixture of everything with the price etc and blamed his lack of first team football which is true. When he goes to City there will be lots of strikers and even then he will have to fight for a place with the likes of Caicedo, Santa Cruz, Bellamy etc as they will buy more players. Money talks, but wish him the best of luck Wink.

ÂĢ80 million for Ronaldo is a joke of a transfer fee though. I agree it's becoming a disgrace now, even Chelsea realised in the end money isn't everything and they have built their team spirit. Money is what football revolves around sadly, now loyalty whatsoever Frowner.

Hi Darlo Wave

Yep no loyalty these days. At least Benzema seems to be showing some loyalty to his club, thank god for that, we dont want him to end up at your club, you will win the league again if you do buy him.

Hi LAF Wave

Nod, he wants to stay at Lyon for another year to prepare playing for France in the World Cup. They think he will sign for United the season after anyway, unless Madrid or City decide to poke their nose in.

Having watched both sports Rugby League and Football for many years now. Rugby league has been a huge success, of course it does not get as big of crowd attendences as football but what makes it great is they have a salary cap. The cap is set by the Rugby Football League (RFL) and it has a max of the players wages for the whole squad, i believe the max is around 2 mil for the whole squad. It gives smaller clubs a chance to compete with the bigger clubs and we have had different teams win the super league nearly every year. I remember the days when we had no cap, Wigan just hi-jacked the league and won everything Big Grin A salary cap should of been added to football years ago, before the likes of City and Chelsea came into money. Obviously it is too late now as it would cause outrage all over the world, I can see the likes of Madrid and Milan already crying about it. I remember even when Dave Whelan had a hissy fit because he couldnt spend spend spend in rugby league, he then later sold usRoll Eyes

In rugby it is 80% sport and 20% buisness, But in football its the opposite way around. What also is great is that no rugby club can possibly go into debt. They make great profits, where as with football clubs if you want success you must go into debt Roll Eyes

Football was destroyed when the big four went into debt. I don't see what city have done wrong? We are buying players but not putting ourselves in debt. Where as the likes of utd and liverpool are still spending even when they can't afford it Shake Head I don't think anyone should worry about City. We have many years before we can compete for the top four.

Laugh, we'll sign new players eventually and get stronger.

I can't believe some people think we're not going to be as good without Ronaldo, it's not the end of the world for us he will be missed as he was our best player by far, but we have lots of talented players who will benefit from him going. I always try to see the positive Blush.

evening footy folk Thumbs Up
just reading a story about Owen maybe coming to Everton,
Everton have offered him ÂĢ50,000 a week, which is less than half of what Newcastle were paying him ÂĢ108,000 a week Eeker
his 4 year deal runs out on Tuesday but if he can't find a club Newcastle will have to pay him another months wages ÂĢ432,000 Eeker
by the time he leaves, Owen will have cost Newcastle ÂĢ45 million over 4 years for a return of 30 goals.

sick innit.

Nod
Owen = Judas. If you look Judas up in the dictionary it will say Owen next to it. Thats if he goes to Everton that is, its probably just a rumour.

Nick Barmby was a different story and so was Abel Xavier

Personally, If i was a footballer I'd have no problem playing for a rival of a former club or the team i support. I wouldn't have a problem scoring against them either, if it was for the benefit of my football career.

Do we think Carlos Tevez will be a judas if/when he signs for Man City? Personally I won't as it's his choice and he obviously feels it's the best move for his career.
