Sheffield United, Reading, Burnley and Preston play offs that should be good. Liverpool won as expected. Newcastle really are in trouble Boro next week too, Bartons tackle was a disgrace, he's a thug and should never have been allowed to get back onto the pitch Mad.

Barton should never ever have been allowed to play football in the first place after what he did. Newcastle are a disgrace for giving him a contract.

Hello Carpet Smiler, I totally agree Nod. Barton is a thug and a disgrace how many chances has he had and every time has reverted bacck to type.

whilst i agree about barton....i don't see why you don't apply the same to roy keane..who spent months planning his 'assault' on alfie inge haaland.....

now i know barton has been in trouble off the pitch.....but as we're talking tackles on the pitch...keane's was premeditated.....he went on the field that day with the intention to injure that player......

yet you like him....... Confused

True about Keano that was a disgrace. But of course I like him for all his time at United he's a fiery character but that was definetly premeditated.

Hello Disley wavey, it depends doesn't it on who gets who should be interesting though. Good point for Bolton yesterday they just need a couple of more points and they're safe.

It's Sheff Utd v Preston and Reading v Burnley in the semis, so there's a good chance it could happen.

Oh right, good chance. I would say one more win and Bolton are safe. You were all over them we could lose I hope we don't lmao and you could win which would be game on again.

Yes I read about that, I have time for Keano of course Wink being a United fan and I wish him best of luck at Ipswich their fans were positive about his appointment aswell. Keano has always been fiery though and he's never changed for anyone remember his rant on the pitch in the Boro vs United game when we lost he went crazy.

Well done to Birmingham City on their return to thr Premiership!

Also, well done to Kevin Phillips on yet another outstanding contribution. Surely one of the finest English strikers of the past 15 years? It will be interesting to see if he stays with Birmingham, or whether he will do as he did last year - after helping WBA to promotion; fulfill a scoring role for another Championship side.

Last time we were in Division Two One the championship, he scored the goal of the season. Unfortunately it was for Sunderland.

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Almeria star Alvero Negredo, who admits he would love the chance to move to Anfield.

Skysports.com can reveal that Negredo is on Rafa Benitez's list of targets for the summer.

Negredo has been one of the real stars of La Liga this term with 19 goals for unfashionable Almeria.

In his two seasons with Almeria he has now bagged 32 goals and his exploits have not gone unnoticed.

Fulham made an unsuccessful effort to sign him in January, while Aston Villa are also keeping a watching brief.

Liverpool are now ready to make a move for the player, although his situation is somewhat complicated in that Real Madrid have first option on him until the end of June.

He was with Real Madrid - albeit mainly their second team - before he joined Almeria, but they inserted a buy-back clause of ÂĢ4.4million which they are now likely to activate.

This will mean they can sell him on, with reports suggesting they would want ÂĢ9.8million and it seems Liverpool would be willing to pay this sum.

Negredo, at just 24, represents real potential and Benitez is keen on taking him to England.
Liverpool interest

The player himself has revealed that Liverpool have made contact.

"To play next to Fernando Torres at Anfield is a dream and any player would accept that," he told skysports.com.
