Everton are on the up, they will be in Europe next season and will almost certainly be in the top 6 again, they just need to strengthen the squad. Chelsea will be back to their best next season again and will provide a more tougher challenge.

i had a great day yesterday....but boy was it hot.......
.......
met some top evertonians before the game and enjoyed a bit of banter with them.....atmosphere was really good and friendly......
the game.......wow.....what a start by everton......absolute shocking defending by us......and i did wonder if after such a blow we'd recover.....
we started getting into it and deserved the equaliser and finished the half the stronger team....
second half everton gave everything but lamps won the day......i hear on the tv they were saying howard could've done more to save it.....i thought that was a bit unfair on him...it fair fizzed in the net..
maloudas 'goal'......well we shouted for it(but we would!)....wasn't until this morning i saw it had actually gone over the line.....shame it wasn't given.....
stayed for the celebrations....have to say you can hardly see the players lifting the cup...it's an awful way they've done the steps and the place where the teams lift the trophy...
afterwards going back to the car....met some more evertonians.....gracious in defeat....patted us on the back and said we were the better team and deserved it....top set of supporters..... ....they were obviously disappointed but what a lovely gesture....full marks to them...
thought it was a good game....and could have gone either way...so often cup finals are dull affairs....but i thought both teams contributed to a fantastic match...and given the heat full credit to both teams for a good game....
strike...barney....i know you must be gutted... it's horrible to lose a final....but i thought everton were excellent...gave everything...and your supporters were top class.....and you can't ask for more than that
i have no doubt with a few additions....and with the players you have out back.....that it won't be another 14 years before you're contesting another final
so whilst i'm pleased and proud that my team won....full credit to the other boys in blue.. ....
