Well, I don't want to gloat, but I'm sick of hearing all this "too big to go down" rubbish. No club (except the very wealthiest who can spend their way out of it) is too big to go down.
There's a huge myth about Newcastle - their fans aren't any more "special" than other clubs' fans. You'd think, by the way some of them go on, that all of them have been going to every game since they were babies.
If that was the case, how come, when my OH was studying in Newcastle (just before Keegan was manager for the first time), he used to be able to walk into any home match he fancied, because they rarely got more than 20,000 through the gates?
