I have a love/hate relationship with food.
I love eating and hate not eating.
I love eating and hate not eating.
I love food. I want to try anything new that appears in the shops. I have wall to wall cook books and I love to cook. It's my birthday today and my hubby said I can have anything I want for dinner so I don't have to cook so I have had the biggest bucket of KFC because that's what I fancied

I love food and it loves my bum!
Good food can be really exciting and satisfying. Sometimes just a few simple good ingredients thrown in a pan can be out of this world and put a smile on your face for the rest of the night.
Sadly, im not a very good cook, im great at baking, but not so good at cooking.

I've been a bit rubbish with food - I used to eat when I needed to mostly, suppose I viewed it as fuel really..but lately I've been craving some foods , so I get what you mean Gypsie about it putting a smile on your face ! It's mostly stodgey stuff I'm cramming in , so it's putting inches on my bum as well ..
This reminded me of the saying "You should live to eat, not eat to live". I tried to find out where this came from. Some sites say it was Benjamin Franklin, but others say it was Socrates who said this over 2000 years before Franklin.

Which of them had the biggest behind El Loro? That'll be the culprit!
I can't cook, or bake, so I don't particularly like the food I cook unless it;s something simple. Takeaways are my vice though. Or eating out in town. I LOVE food that I don't have to cook but it's making me fat! I'll be happy enough to switch back to salads and lighter food now that the weather is improving but I won't be able to cut out takeaways completly as I crave them far too much
However, I can make a good sunday roast.......I've been told if I can do that then I can cook other stuff but believe me I've tried! Anything else that involves a lot of steps is not for me.

I'm the opposite: loathe baking - far too rigid for my liking (and I'm not into desserts so that helps! ). I can't stand being told 100g of this, half a litre of that in the Delia way either. I always go by gut instinct (waistline to prove it too ) and a bit of the old adage of 'cooks perks', i.e. tasting along the way.Originally Posted by El Loro:

Eating to live sounds positively dull, boring and no fun at all..!

Tell me about it! When I was preparing the food for the party I was surrounded by good options - lean meat, salad a beautiful saLMOn etc> What did i hone in on? The mega pork pie ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't particularly like pork pie - forbidden fruits and all rthat! The quiche was lovely too.
I'm not much bothered about eating, but I like cooking, which is a bit sad because I end up not eating a lot of it.

Because life's a bummer and the joke it plays is not funny. You have been a good girl though so I think you deserve a treat.

Actually ....................i was very restrained under the circumstances,i just have to say - we had such a wonderful party for my mums eightieth - I ewanted to make her feel special - like a princess and I think she did. Such a lovely evening with friends and family gathering from far and near - so lovely.
All too often I've seen people pushing the boat out at funerals ................it's too late then. My mum had a ball - and so did we.
I'm bloody knackered now though!
