Now, I've been seeing my new bloke for about five months now. As most of you know, I'm very Goth/Alternative, whereas he is.. well, not.

He recently made the suggestion that over the summer, instead of wearing my usual Knee-Length New Rock Boots (with stripey over the knee socks

), I should invest in a pair of flip flops/sandals type things.

I was horrified, as to me, men should not be seen in such things, but as my fashion sense is, shall we say, usually entirely different to most people's, I wanted to get a general opinion on the matter.

What about canvas skate shoes or summat?

My lad has some ace ones with skulls on, he has batman Converse...he has the checked vans (I'm thinking as I type this it might be to emo for you

)

Google Gothic flip flops and there are loads out there, especially womens platform ones (with metal spikes and everything!)

I'm out on the bike a lot so by now it's brown tan strips. In fact I am quite bronzed at the mo. Also I do not wear sandals indoors nor when dancing to Frank.
My dear wife, whose name escapes me, has forbidden me to wear shorts.

I Only have one pair of shorts, which are Criminal Damage ones, pinstriped with spikes down the sides of them. I usually wear these with either ripped fishnets/stripey tights, or the over the knee socks, and my New Rocks. I can't see them working with sandals though.

Besides! As you know I was at Whitby for goth week and most of the people were wearing sandals, black ones chained together, but sandals all the same.

Well just get a plain black pair of flip flops, they’ll go with anything. You canny be wearing big boots and tights in the summer, you’ll end up major stanky

Thanx guys, I shall look into it. I'm still worried though, as I have legs like Olive Oyl! (which is why I usually keep them well covered - they look like two bits of spaghetti with knots tied in the middle!)
