I'm moving to a new team in the same business about 2 miles away from my current location. Send off is being deferred to the 19th as too many are on holiday leave.

Thanks MrsH, looking forward to something new.

Hi Baz. It's been a quiet day as many people are away. I had a leisurely coffee and a few chats with people, brought some cakes in for some of my colleagues, cleared my desk into two bankers boxes and made a quiet exit.

WOW - You must be psychic - I was just about to search my original thread to provide an update but you did the hard work for me Kaffy.  Thank you for asking.

Well week one over and I must say I am mentally drained. I've had a fair bit to learn and even started doing some useful work from around Tuesday. My boss went through my training plan which lasts 36 months with a lot of courses near and in London.

I'm starting to get a feeling for the important work that my colleagues do and I am looking forward to when I can contribute at their level - but given the amount and length of training needed I think it may be a gradual process.

My mentor is very knowledgable and is being very patient as I ask what I think are quite simple and basic questions.

It's good to be doing something where I want to go to work in the mornings.

No, definitely NOT a tax man.

I will think on how best to describe what I do and get back to you - keep your eyes peeled for my response.
