I agree Pirate they are horrible when you see animals cowering away scared of them
I LOVE FIREWORKS !!!
Has anyone found London Lights yet?
I hate em too...on ANY night except 5th November!!
lol
have you watched 'the purge'?
we could kill all the people who light fireworks out of season
They're going on all over the place around here
its like the blitz
well its not
but its annoying lol
Had a few going off last night but it's been quite quiet so far this year

Very true Pirate ...but thankfully it seems to have gone quiet now ...although some twit it bound to let some off around midnight !!!
Around here Halloween runs into Diwali and Nov5th, meaning we have a week long noise-fest. It brings out my inner-authoritarian, in that I would happily see fireworks restricted to public events.
It's going mad here. My poor cats are sitting behind me on the couch growling. They're very brave with me shielding them.
i hate them with a passion, my dog is shit scared

I'm getting really annoyed with Star City as they keep letting them off at 10pm and it's driving my dog Milo mad grrrr
There's loads going off here tonight and the weather is terrible, what a waste of money
Ours have been in the distance tonight, but closer now. They're getting on my nerves although I do like them
My opinion is they should only be sold to organised displays. I hate the average anyone having them.
I remember being tormented as a teen by the local lads throwing them at us girls, and then years later working part time in a petrol station, and arseholes throwing them on the forecourt when people were filling up.
The local shop round the corner where I used to live would sell them to anyone despite their age, until I went in after the fuel station forecourt incident, and told them I was going to report them if I saw one more teen in the village with any fireworks.
I agree cinds
Very noisy tonight, but would probably be worse if it wasn't so windy !
Plus, I am sick to my hind teeth of my dogs going mental every time a BANG occurs.
Would a kind forum gentleman please help me down off my high horse?
PS see my earlier tweet for my feelings on fireworks.

I do like them but agree they should only be sold on the day or maybe the day before and the weekend before, for organised displays
Firstly i LOVE fireworks.
Secondly i think bangers should be banned - they aint fireworks they are lil bombs.
One of my fondest childhood memories was having a display in our garden.
If sales to the public are banned then so will sparklers and I think that would be a shame.
But i see H&S taking this away from us all.
As for organised displays - i can see costs meaning they will end and H&S will ban them in the end.
And so . . . another tradition will die in this country
I know Renton, it would be such a shame if the tradition of celebrating human torture were to die off.
Most of our traditions have rather gruesome origins.
So what do we do?
Ban everything and live in a traditionless, sterile, H&S world of cotton wool?

I love them.
But.
Only once a year and not every damn night from late October to the middle of November as stupid individuals think it's so much fun to let off bangers at 11:30pm at night. Grrrrrr
No, definitely not. It's not even something we celebrated until the Americans imported it.
No, definitely not. It's not even something we celebrated until the Americans imported it.
The Irish and the Scots imported it there and then they exported it back in it's modern, commercialised form!
