Replies sorted oldest to newest
Glengarry Glenross.
Ensemble, soundtrack and filming.
Worst stick in the memory film was 'Chesty Morgan'........in the 70s, it was advertised everywhere....on the tube, buses.......then boyfriend, now hubby...insisted we went to see it ***Wish I could Roll My Eyes***............
walked out halfway through....even he got bored........
S.W.A.L.K. when I was a kid. There was something endearingly innocent about it. The Exorcist because it was terrifying (almost as much as the book). Lord Of The Flies because it's still the best film ever made about the importance of looking after number one.
Could'nt sleep for weeks after seeing 'The Exorcist'...........(I saw it twice...cos had to make me mate traumatised too)......
Dawn of the Dead - it traumatised me
Did you think it was real? I did.

Born Free......in those days you got a glossy book about the film with your ticket.......
Oliver......got one at that too......
Love Story I was at high school when it came out and went to see it with my friends about three times... and in those days you could go in for the first showing an sit all night and watch it again. We did. We had the dialog memorised.. between us I swear we could recite the script. I saw it on telly a couple of years ago.. and I could still remember what the next lines were going to be for most of the film. I loved it all over again - even though in comparison with films of today, it was a very simple film and storyline.

That whole series of films was scary. They'd say Dawn Of The Dead and you'd say OMFG and plan on moving to another planet etc then they'd release More Dead Of The Dead and you'd think ffs we've only just got rid of the last lot?

What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful and brilliant? That she loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles, and me?

***Sniff*** thanks Kaffy......*sniff*
have all your other boyfriends been comedians then..?
The Railway Children..
That scene at the end when her Dad get's off the train and she sees him through all the mist.
Also at the very end of the film when Bobbie says to her siblings something about leaving their parents together while they go to the end of the garden.
That was one of my lovely Dad's favourite films and at his funeral my niece read an exert from it - just that end bit that is taken straight from the book.
Oh good lord I am crying again.
I can't watch that film without crying...

I absolutely loved that film - it used to be on TV quite a lot but haven't seen it for years. I so agree about the sheer innocence of it all

Heartbreak Ridge - best movie EVER
Peters Friends - for some reason that really sticks in my memory.
For some strange reason...
The Story of Robin Hood (a Disney film) with Richard Todd, Joan Rice, Peter Finch, James Hayter, and James Robertson Justice. With Elton Hayes as the minstrel Allan-a-Dale.
I went to see it over and over.
The Search with Montgomery Clift.
More recently
Brokeback Mountain, an excellent adaptation from the short story, and I weep every time I see it.
