Ah - you've got me. I haven't seen The Avengers yet (I was meant to see it today, but I had a bit of an accident and had to abandon that idea: will hopefully see it at the weekend), however all the preceding films had a post-credits sequence, so I thought it was worth giving a warning. I remember some FMs saying they'd missed the post-credit sequences in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and I tend to be paranoid about leaving the cinema early now, just in case I miss something!

I've really no idea if there are two clips or not...

There's two clips in the American version, but only one in the UK version. So no need to wait till the end.

I got told today that there's a post-credits sequence at the end of Iron Man 2......I missed it but luckily have the DVD.

Last week I watched Never Let Me Go, it was slow-burning, haunting and very bleak. But I liked it, despite the presence of Keira Knightley. I don't know why but she annoys me so much! Really liked Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield.

Watched a bunch of films recently:

Drive - Pretty good and shockingly gory in places.  Although at times I found it tediously slow. Wicked soundtrack though.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil - Watched this on recommendation of my brother. Its a horror comedy doing a spin on the whole 'bunch of kids go camping in the woods'.  It was okay, it had so much potential but didn't really deliver. Lost a bit of interest in it.

Troll Hunter - A norwegian film about student film crew searching for trolls.  Pretty good, sounds cheesy but they pull it off quite well.

Don't buy, see or hire the film "Womb" made in 2010 with Matt Smith, which has been repackaged as "Clone" following Matt's higher profile for his Dr Who role.  Biggest load of steaming horse dung with loads of plot holes (like a mother who doesn't seem to age a day in over twenty years) and an implausible, stupid and frankly distasteful subtext.  It has good reviews on IMDB for some reason as a bit of a thought provoking film, but it's shiieeeeteee.

Oh......that's on my Lovefilm list!

I thought it was "alright".

TBH, I felt it was a bit over-long (and noticeably picked up when the dwarves arrived), but the visual "look" is really impressive, with some nice ideas (such as they way they use the mirror). Theron is *ahem* very good too...

its amazing - the new teen sesnsation plus 4 books to go with it, better Twilight (but nothing like Twilight) if you get me

its fantasy adventure milarkey with aliens and feelings - MEGA!!!

I thought it was OK, but nothing to write home about. Has lots of well used themes, but the effects are good. One to rent, but would not buy it.

I enjoyed both of them recently too. I watched the Star Trek film which was on 4 this evening and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. For anyone who didn't see it, it's the one where they get young actors to play the original cast and tell how they all met.

Very good

You realise that it is an alternative timeline to the original Star Trek and not really the back-story to the characters you know. But it is a very good re-boot and I am looking forward to the next one.

What a load of rubbish!!

Don't get me wrong  - it has some merit ... the animation and some genuinely laugh out loud moments are to be commended

But laughs are thin on the ground, story is laboured and unoriginal and that's not to mention the steriotypical characters bordering on the offensive at times.

A poor show

I much prefered Cars 2, just did not like the story in Cars one bit.

Its a slippery slope. If you stop downloading and become a good citizen then you get through this. Honest.

Nah I disagree Rawky. What are you to do if that devil Murdoch steals all your favourite programmes away on to Sky? Huh?

*sets moral challenge to Rawky*

I can answer that question, you either stump up the cash and buy a Sky subscription or you do without. Simple really.

I guess the first thing wrong with Tintin is that ... its Tintin

Never a universally liked/accepted cartoon series in the UK or USA (compared to the rest of Europe) it struggles to find its place in this modern remake. The modern day movie shows Capt Haddock as an alcoholic and Tintin as a 15yr old gun-totin' sleuth. Basically staying faithful to the Tintin heritage means it does not fit well in 2012.

Its neither for adults (as its too long forgotten to be popular enough to fill seats) nor has it a modern day following enough to have children rushing to see it.

Furthermore - its understanable that a cartoon wud be remade as ... a cartoon and it IS spectacular to watch but its hero is never really in peril cos its a 'cartoon' and so i doubt anyone wud have been on the edge of their seats like with Indina Jones or Pirates of the Carribean.

A strange choice for a remake that doesn't work in terms of its characters, its 'gung-ho' spirit nor for its pure entertainment pleasure in this modern day era.

Tintin needs to remain in the past.

I kinda disagree with you. I don't know much about the world of TinTin, but quite enjoyed the film. It was well shot and I found some of the characters interesting enough to watch another if one were to be made. As far as finding an audience, we will have to wait and see.

Sure the story line lends itself to a prequel but there is nothing new and some scenes are lifted wholesale from the old movie

Worst of all the fail to steal the best scenes - its a lazy effort, sadly

Nope, it's not a remake, it is a prequel. I absolutely love the John Carpenter Thing and had some reservations going in, but they did a good job of not making the film look "too 21st century". There is a lot of new information and I can't recall scenes lifted from the first.

You need to rewatch it.

Last Monday went to see Prometheus (in 2D, non of that 3D for me). As Alien is in my top 10 all time films and Ridley was directing again I was hoping for a decent film. Pleased it was not a prequel, But I do think the writers had read Chariots of the Gods before writing this script. Enjoyed the story and some (not all) of the characters. Could see the obvious DNA links to the Alien films and clearly been left open for another film... or maybe not, we will have to see. I liked it enough to include it in my blu-ray collection when it is released. For a 2 hour plus film it did seem to fly by.

Oh no i don't

Its a remake at best  ... with a very slight twist of something called a prequel

Watched Tucker and Dale at the weekend and thought it took an amusing slant on the teen slasher genre.
