  1. This is Spinal Tap
  2. Shaun of the Dead
  3. Walkabout
  4. The Chronicles of Riddick
  5. Hot Fuzz

This is Spinal Tap.  One of my all time favourites. Turn it up to 11. In fact I'm sure I made reference to it in the Apprentice thread when they screwed up the flag dimensions.

I really enjoy TiST. The purchase is to replace my DVD copy. Does my blu-ray player go to 11?

Takes skill to sum up a film in three lines.

Maybe we should have a review thread with a three line rule.

now that would be good

yet bloody difficult

shall i start a thread?

Bargain!

I watched Sunshine Cleaning a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do like drama flicks that focus on ā€œlittle peopleā€ and this is a good example with a strong cast.

Sounds promising, thanks CS. I don't mind blind buys if they are cheap enough. I know that if I don't like at Ā£2, Ā£3 or Ā£4 I can probably sell on and get my money back rather than ad to my collection.

i 'read' that at one of the schools i never really attended-but the plot sounds good-i should've bothered to read or at least watch the film

Harper Lee, wrote about her father, which is where the book came from, I think it's the only book she ever wrote.

Set during the depression and  in the south, when white people ruled and black people were oppressed.

I really don't like hollywood blockbusters, slick humour or war of the worlds type films. Not keen on scary, gory stuff either.Nor setimental stuff.

i detest slasher/gory movies..i like a good thriller or a supernatural film-and the conjuring didnt half make me jump/shout/yell/scream like a girl

Me too. I have seen some and they are less about artistic merit and entertainment than how to kill/maim in the most gory way possible. What kind of people make or enjoy these things?

apart from the Warren couple are real-they did investigation into amytiville & theyre the only people who proved in a court of law that a house some bird lived in was haunted & that doll is real

A possessed doll from the Warren's Occult Museum.

If you don't mind black and white films which are subtitled watch the French 1955 film Les Diaboliques. No gore in that film but is guaranteed to make you jump. The director increases the tension in the film's climax to an almost inbearable level and then .....

Don't watch the American 1996 remake.
