Awww Sazza I promised to meet up with ya but I've been so bad with my health (off work again today cos of me back). Have you got any like minded workmates who share the same interests as you? Most people who come to the city alone make friends through work or hobbies. London's over populated but it can be a lonely place cos we never make eye contact let alone speak to anyone (I just shout at them)
As soon as I am on the mend I promise we will catch up for a tete-a-tete (i.e. good gossip over a cuppa ) xxx

I think moving down here like you have is dead brave Saz!   Its a bit of a bugger that there isn't an active social scene where you work.  Considering you work in IT, in the city... you've been pretty unlucky.

I was talking to one of my brother in laws a month of so ago about similar type thing (ok, well he wants to meet women.... but he does also want to broaden his social circles).   He lives in London too.... he was telling me about an activities club, where you sign up and then they plan loads of different activities, e.g. paint balling, clubbing, rock climbing.. etc etc (lots of different stuff)... and you just stick your name on the list of any of the activities scheduled that you fancy.

It meant he didn't have to sign up to a club focussing just on one thing (like paintballing), and it isn't a dating club or anything.

Pretty much a club for people do stuff with other people that haven't got anyone to do stuff with!

That is probably the crappest description I could have given!    I am not feeling very articulate today!

Ohhh pet Well I think you are dead brave to start with and if I lived anywhere nearby I'm sure we could do lunch ...

...Ju jitsu sounds like fun!!! Although tres tiring. I bet you would meet some pretty cool people doing that Do you know of anyone who has relative or friends near you who could introduce you to the pub/club scene? I don't know anything about London but surely it must be teeming with cool classes you can go to on just about anything?

Good luck sweetie, sorry I wasn't anymore help

Ditty, that thing sounds fab I like that I can sign up and choose from lots of diff things. I'm not big into clubbing really, which cuts out a fair bit of socialising opportunity
Well Daniel put the link up... so go on, go on, go on,  do it!

Come back and tell us all about it!

(I made my brother do a similar type thing when his marraige broke down.. but it was a speed dating activity thing... he loved it... did a sailing weekend, hubby & I ended up dead jellus, almost wishing we could do it! )
