Hi Lori 1. I usually go to Faves for this Forum and click on the link and it brings me here.


2. The green bars show up on the taskbar when trying to access any website. Normally for websites 100% is reached very quickly and I get there. When they are slow to load it's either because of heavy traffic or I need to clear a build up of temp. int. files or cookies that is slowing things down, or in extreme circumstances do a defrag. Only with Gaga am I experiencing that doing all that doesn't make a difference. I either have to find my own solution to get here or reboot the pc..

OK, so what DOES happen (when it's not working right)?  Tell me what you see, where does it take you?  What's in the URL bar?  Does it just hang, and not finish loading (that's what I think I remember, because we discussed that earlier)?

When it's not working for me after clearing files the link doesn't take me anywhere, I don't get error messages etc, I just can't get here. In the url bar it says http://talk/gagagjoyjoy.com and yes it just hangs there going nowhere unless I find an old link via history etc. So although I regularly delete temp int.files and cookies I daren't delete History lol.

That sounds like my issue with the malware via the router (as I remember we discussed earlier).  I remember also that you don't think that is the case with you.

And the reply box is still funny today.
Even the box with the cogs has a row of tiny crosses above it.

EDIT: But the edit seems to be working properly today.
RE-EDIT: Scratch that - it only worked for the first edit, but has now reverted to the never ending cogs and the page jumping up the screen.

I just got well and truly booted out, and here is the message that came up....the requested URL /displayForumTopic/content/146945078521053791/reply/lastReply was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Mind you, I was just about to post my thoughts on Gordon Brown, so that may have something to do with it.... 

And I KNEW you were going to do that, so I pulled the plug on a server.

aHA!  I believe we've found something.  It looks like maybe your character encoding doesn't match ours, Fluffy.  Try this:  in your browser, choose View, and then Encoding (or Character Encoding).  What do you have set there?  If it's not Unicode or Western something-or-other, try changing it to one of those options, and see what happens.

did you have to switch the server off again... to find fluffy's dodgy character encoding?

This is getting silly.... I promise not to mention Gordon again if you stop switching the server off

Oooooh I had Fluffys dodgy reply box for a couple of days too! I remember all those little crosses well It was only in the dialogs though.

However, that wouldn't explain why it's ok in LC, but funny in GaGa. (Dare I say GAGA in GaGa?)

Have checked in the AfricanAmerica forum and it's ok there as well. So I signed out then back in again....and the reply box is STILL funny here, but only in GaGa.

That makes me think it's got something to do with the style in here. 
Back to the drawing board. *sigh*

If it helps any it has only happened in the last few days of last week or so, I'm fairly sure it was ok up to mid last week, then I wasn't on for a couple of days and then I was back at the weekend for the GP - that was when I first got the 'funny' reply box.

At least with this one it just seems to be the APPEARANCE that is affected, the PERFORMANCE appears to be as normal.

Fluffy, I'm going to report your issue as a bug.  Dave and I thought we knew what the issue is, but it's clearly over our heads.

I know, I know.  We had another outage.  We've figured what's been causing the problems the last couple of nights (your nights, not ours), and we've issued a fix for it.  *fingers crossed*

Lori--- I hope you can fix these probs soon-- BB11 is about to start and it is the last one here in the UK... Folk will be expecting to post problem-free, and hope you can sort these probs... I have just been lurking for a while, and found it very difficult to get here... Have not complained for a while, coz have been accused of " Moaning" by a few members... I hope they now realise i was just stating the probs we all seem to be having lately... even the "lurkers"..

By the way, have you seen the thread on forumers trying to locate your offices on Google Map? They're getting desperate and are looking for information. Can you help them before they crack and start clinbing the walls (which I suspect they may need to do)!
