Yay!

Hey, just a heads-up:  I'm actually going on holiday (YAY!!!) for a week, so I won't be paying any attention to Gaga until Monday, August 2nd.  (Please behave. )

Dave and Rosemary will still be around, though.  But, I think I'm the only one looking at this particular topic, so if something goes haywire, start a new topic in the Community News and Announcements Section, OK?

Phew! Managed to get in again and post!

I've had a bad time loading too Brian. Started in the middle of last week and has got steadily worse. Yesterday, Sunday, it was impossible. Today I've managed to view a bit but eventually get chucked out again.

Like Fluffy, it may be down to broadband issues, but other sites are loading way better than here at the moment.

Since C4 migrated to this site, everyone's gone from the science threads! Where is everybody?
I only looked at the science threads from time to time, but I know that muf uses this forum - you could try sending him a PM as he may know. At present mosts FMs seem to be BB orientated, but thins may change once that's over.

And it would be nice if there were more threads per page.
Agreed Baby Bunny. It`s so busy wih BB, the threads are slipping off the page very quickly. The first page is obviously what you look at but I`ve/we`ve missed lots of threads because the page so short.
Brian, if you could do anything about this it would appreciated. Thankyou. x

It's a flipping nightmare now.  Constantly been kicked off.  When you do get on, it's hit and miss as to whether you can get a box to open or it's taking an age to post

part of the BB experience is to chat while the programme is on, but a lot of these problems occur during this time frame (9pm - 11pm UK time).  It defeats the object of a BB forum.  I can't even get the graemlins to work properly!

Tried to post in the Big Brother discussion thread at 10 pm when I logged on and got this message:-

After I refreshed the page everything has been working OK,

Edit: Except that I'm getting an error trying to post this.

Kaytee, I've been posting clips from Youtube today without any problems - I also use Firefox.

So that people can help you, is the problem at the Youtube site where you can't copy the webpage address, or is it on this forum?

If it is at the forum end, what happens when you try to paste the address in the File/URL box. Does the address appear or not?

Then if the address appears, press the tab key and the front screen of the clip should appear in the big box below. Does this happen?

Then if the picture does appear and you click Insert you should return to the Your Reply screen. You should see a large box where the clip will appear, but at least for me, this always appears empty apart from a circle with an f sign in the middle. Does this happen?

Assuming all this happens, then what happens when you Submit Reply?

I've set this out as a series of questions so that your answers can give a guide as to what may be casuing the problem. Kaytee, please note that although I have posted these questions in some detail, I am not one of the forum's admin people - some people confuse El Loro with Lori

Hi El Loro

I always get the yellow box with the f in it, but then when I do the insert and reply...I don't get the video, just the web address transposed in the forum reply box. This didn't happen before, but it's been doing it for a while now. I have no explanation for it myself, I'm not doing anything  differently....but I do get a load of cogs and then if it does post, the web address appears instead of the video.

It would seem that it's when I reach the forum it goes gaga.....thank you for your reply El Loro....I know you're not Lori
Kaytee

Kaytee, I've just posted this clip showing the football highlights from last night. To assist the people in Seattle work out what is going on, try posting a clip by itslef. But before submitting the reply click on the Toggle WYSIWYG and look at the resulting screen. For the above clip I got this:-

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="350" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HpgkXNOkSCw" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HpgkXNOkSCw"></embed></object>

Although your details will be different being for a different clip, they should be of a similar structure. But I would guess that yours will be different. Copy the text you see, then ome back to the ordinary Post Reply screen, clear the screen of the orange box, then make a message saying what you have tried to do but also paste the resulti of your copying into your reply.
