And I'll LET you hunt one up, rather than risk choosing the wrong one.

About the other issue:  I reported, and also that it's hit Darnie's as well.  Be patient and know that it's temporary, AND that we are working on fixing it.
(Although...don't be so patient that you don't report when it doesn't happen--it's helpful to know when it happens).

Brian. Lori, Ted.or whoever on the tech side. I've had several weeks of aggravation/frustration with the Reply to post's scenario, I tried many ways to reply to a post, some worked some didn't. I'm on IE7, since a recent fix by Brian so far i've been able to reply to posts I feel a pull towards without any problems, so thanks Brian and anyone else responsible for dealing with Fixes

YR:  Glad to hear things have been better for you.

fookat:  You WERE having trouble, or you ARE having trouble.  Does it come and go?  When you have written a reply and "nothing happens" do you get any kind of an error message (in red, perhaps, telling you there must be content in your reply or some such  nonsense?)
Lori
Re Fookat's problem, I have also noticed that if a user posts a reply on a thread at exactly the same time as another user posts, that there is a delay in the reply getting through.
I suspect that from 9.00 pm UK time today people are going to find this happening a lot because of BB. Lets hope the servers are up to it.

changed to IE but no avi's and only a few smileys
Hi ros ... thank goodness you managed to upgrade FF as, according to Fluffs, this is a problem with Microsoft and not LC.

It's probably worth highlighting it again as all the noobs/returnees might be surprised that they can't see smileys and avis with IE

Just dashed in to thank you Lori et al for changing the forum titles threads and names to a much better blue for reading against the yellow! I know El Loro pointed it out very recently and I'd noticed it a problem for links too. It is so great you respond like this to things!
And my thanks as well - Thanks to Xochi's post I have now realised that the links are now shown in blue so that do now stand out

I tried to quote but I could not is anyone else having the same problem thank you
I can't say I've had this problem - but just to point out that when you highlight a post to quote, you have to click the Post Reply box on the page where you have highlighted the text. If you change pages to say the most recent page the quoted text is lost.

Can I ask for a suggestion fort he next update please. .

Can you make the default 'watch this thread' set to No please..  my ticker is going mad now I am posting in a few more threads than I was before and tis annoying to have to go back to each one and change it to Not watching..

surely tis easier to select to watch the occasional thread yourself and the default to no?

Olly, you can set your ticker to suit yourself in your preferences. I never get stuff in my ticker from threads I comment on unless I actively switch them on.

It's not the default that needs to be changed, it's the settings in YOUR control panel.

It's actually in the 'Notifications'

Scroll down to the 'Watched Content Preferences' section and de-select (untick) the second option.

I'm only mentioning this out of personal curiosity, certainly not because it's annoying me or because it's a problem worth stressing about, so just idle curiosity on my part lol

Some FM's can drag the avi of the FM they're replying to into Reference. I can't do that, have tried many times and it never works, so, if, I remember I put the FM's name into Reference, no probs, only takes seconds. Just casually wondered at times if this is also a Browser issue. Techie peeps, really not trying to give you extra work lol. Btw I really appreciate all the tech fixes recently because you all at GaGa wanted the Forum to be running smoothly for us who follow BB, thank you

Yellow Rose, I have checked this out on my Firefox and IE browsers. Although as you can see I have been able to include your avatar, the method does differ.

With Firefox, it's simple, having started the Post Reply, just drag the required avatar (you can see a shadowy copy being dragged) to the right of Reference and drop it there.

I cannot do this with IE - I just get a circle with a slash through it being dragged. To do the equivalent in IE, right click on the required avatar. Click on Copy on the resulting little menu (not Copy Shortcut). Position your pointer against Reference and on the keyboard Ctrl-V (the standard Windows command for Paste). And the avatar should then appear.

If you wish to copy an avatar in the main body of your reply, follow the same methods for Firefox and IE.

By default, the size of the avatar will be unchanged. If you wish to reduce the size, then once the copy is made by Reference, click on that copy, then click on the Insert/Edit Image icon (which will have become highlighted). Select the Appearance tab, and change the dimensions to say 25 by 25 (the second will probably automatically change when you change the first). Then click Update.
