My all time favourite album is Cockahoop by Cerys Matthews - there's something about it which I find uplifting and comes from the soul of someone who had been through hell and had come through it.

Boyzone - No Matter What.I am not a boyzone fan at all BUT my late Dad loved this song as it reminded him of my Mum...
So I played it at his funeral - much to the consternation of my family who are sooo high brow
But it was for him and as the coffin went behind that curtain, I sobbed...

Although I can't like Golden Brown from The Stranglers because of its subject matter (heroin), I find it an extraordinarily hypnotic song. I dance to the song with my ex girlfriend, and because of the effect of the music, during that song our minds merged into one  - an experience I will never forget until the day I die.

Strangely enough the guitarist Hugh Cornwell was also involved in the writing of Chardonnay, one of the songs on Cerys Matthews' Cockahoop.

Oh Isadora that's made my eyes fill up, but how lovely that the song reminded him of your mum

I still can't hear it  now without having a tear... its such a lovely song.

The miracle song (you are a miracle to me)  Neil Sedaka,this song came into my head when my gran daughter was born and I couldn't get rid of it for days.

Because the Night - Patti Smith Reminds me of my late sister, she died in her early thirties but as a teenager played this record (in our shared bedroom) until it nearly broke. Whenever I hear it played I am reminded of her and  am transported back to happier times. Always makes me smile

That's one of my all time favourites too, my kids love it and they always used to ask me to play it in the car, we'd all sing really loudly so it has happy memories for me too.
