ooooh, I am not sure if I have ever even seen that....is it like the Great British bake off, but with meals, rather than cakes?

There is a big banquet at the end of the series.

in the run up to it they have professional chefs compete within their region starter, fish, main, desert.

A winner from each region goes to the final and then the best dish from catergory goes through to the banquet.

I love it!

Have a gander at his Far Eastern Odyssey book zazz ... it is doubly lush!!

We have cooked our way through all of his fish books - so this was a lovely change, we are about a quarter of the way through it

I have loads of cookery books, look at them for ideas, but rarely follow a recipe.....Good Housekeeping ones are hard to beat imo

Little gem lettuces?

Yes...doesn't work for me

I have done them and I liked them......another thing I was shocked I liked was peeled cucumber cut into large chunks and added to a curry, I thought they would disintegrate and go watery, but they were lovely and refreshing and held their shape.
