What book do you love the most?

The one that has inspired you, moved you and entices you back to re-read it over and over again.

Mine - thanx for asking  . . .

I adore Cider with Rosie by Laurie Lee

Its wonderfully nostalgic and refreshingly innocent.

It opens the door to another world thats out of reach but brings it alive in your hand.

Achingly beautiful memories of a bygone age.

I have loads of books that I will read again and again and never tire of them...my ultimate ones are:

Renegades by Shaun Hutson....he has written 50ish books and I have most of them but this is the one I will always return to...my copy is so battered now, but I won't replace it as it is signed by him after I stalked met him. He was disappointingly short but he was very lovely and didn't seem at all disturbed by me, which was nice of him!!!

Nemesis by Jo Nesbo....I only discovered this author a few months ago and am hooked already! He's Norwegian and writes crime thrillers, they are fan-blooming-tastic and keep you guessing right until the end. I can't recommend him highly enough.

It by Stephen King....MrB bought me this when I was preggers with our eldest....it kept me going through many a sleepless night!

Rivals by Jilly Cooper....the perfect book for an easy, fun filled read! Again, I have all her books and this is the most read one, another battered book!!

Angelology by Danielle Trussoni....a kind of antidote to the Twilight saga!! Took some reading but was well worth it. Have read it a few times already and am now ready to read the sequel!!

Elizabeth by Dr David Starkey....I have a mild obsession with the Tudors and have lots of books, both fiction and non fiction, about them and this is one of my faves along with his one about Henry VIII.

I could list loads more, but won't!!!!!!!!

How odd that you should mention Jo Nesbo!
My pal in Hamburg was raving about the book and I had never heard of the author.
On my return adverts were festooned over every railway atation!

Well worth a read! I have since got hold of all but one of his books and none of them disappoint...it's just this was the first one I read! Mind you...wish I had paid more attention to the inside cover as I started half way through the series of books (they centre around a detective called Harry Hole)....still, each book makes perfect sense by itself and is a fab read.

I HATE THAT BOOK!!!!!

*rocks back & forth in corner*

We did that book at school..   I opted out of GCE Eng Lit when they brought out The Merchant of Venice...     & regretted it all the way through the CSE book...  "CIder with Rosie"

I did however, learn most of it by heart, & got the highest grade in the exam in our region.

Only got a grade 2 CSE though..   cos the coursework was homework & I didn't hand any of it in!

But...   just reading that book title..   it leaves me cold!

I've just reread the Garth Nix Abhorsen trilogy & really enjoyed it again.

There are not many books I am happy with rereading..     I have to have really fallen in love with them..  but Anne McCaffrey's Dragons of Pern series, Talents series & Crystal Singer series I can reread over & over again.

otherwise I tend to go through phases..    Rachel Vincents Shifter series is rereadable.

i love the Sookie Stackhouse books, but strangely don't find them rereadable!

I am currently ploughing my way through 'Game of Thrones' by George RR Martin....very good read...it's taking me ages though cos I got distracted by another Jo Nesbo book and then had to try and pick it up again!!! This time, I am determined to finish it before I start another book, no matter how excited I am to read the new one!!!!

The Game of Thrones book has the added appeal of Sean Bean on the front cover *wibble*....
