I still struggle to understand why these people who are really struggling for money have:

1. Pets - they cost to look after
2. Smoking - it's not only unhealthy, it's expensive.

I've always wondered how they can do that EC? I work on reception for a training company (work alongside the JCP rather than for them) for people who are on benefits.  

How the hell can they afford to run a car and claim mileage travel!! 

Absolutely - He needs to pull his socks up and go find work.

Maybe it's just me, but if I was struggling I would cut back on non essentials. Certainly would not have a pet and definitely not smoke or drink. But that's me.

Couple on benefits, given house and now they are planning a baby. I don't think that is a very good idea really.

Get a job, establish yourself, get a few savings behind you, then think about a baby.

Careers teacher says she has two options, catering and law - they are quite disparate career options.

"Let me give you some advice", "Those people who say you should not have kids on benefits", "Boll*cks".

I may be missing something there, but I'm not sure how the word boll*cks is advice!

Can't believe if this is for real or not, but this Romanian guy is planning to come to England for benefits and wants to make £40K. He says if he can't afford food he will steal from people or houses!!!

Once again we see people who say they are poor smoking. I've seen these communities in Rotherham and they are quite grim. There is also one in a bad part of Sheffield which recently had fighting amongst the various communities.

I mean £800 + a month ....My husband and I don't get that in state pension , after working for half a century ....!!!!

It would seem he has got what he wanted, £820 for doing nothing. Sending it back home.

And we have another guy stealing from shops.

No wonder they think this country is "good"

If I heard it right, he has done absolutely nothing for that money except sign up to every benefit available. 

There is a massive difference between the people who come, work, pay tax and contribute and these people who see us as a cash point.

I had to turn it off again. I get so wound up at programmes like these 

What really annoys me about some of the people on the programme tonight is that they have completely unrealistic expectations.

One one hand they say they would love to work, but, as one lady says "after I have paid all my bills and normal living expenses I want £500 a week left".

£500 per week left !!!!

She either has no idea what salaries pay or is living in cloud cuckoo land.

That sort of salary must be in the late £40K per year or may even tip into £50K per year.

I'm recording it EC ....I need to be away from my IPad when I'm watching ! And by the sounds of it I will have to put aNything throwable out of reach too !

I really want to shout get real people at those who think like that 

I work for about £1,100 after taxes a month and about to be redundant in December. One of my workmates has found a job this afternoon that she thinks I could do. NMW. I'd take it if I had the chance after applying and getting though the interview. It works out at about £880 per month before tax, but better than what you get on JSA.........or maybe not  

You do right Baz, they really make my blood boil some times.
