In our village they do have a group which Im thinking of joining....and when you join the local Boots branch give you free non smoking stuff...is there anything like that round your way?

How are you feeling about it Cologne...are you getting back on the wagon without a backward glance?

I want to. My daughter is going to give me Mary Hell. I can't not tell her that I did it. I enjoyed it, that's the problem. Thanks for replies.

Our village is too small to extend to this kind of thing. It's me being depressed and going for it. I just didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I don't have another roll up, so I either suffer and buy some tomorrow or be sensible and not buy any tomorrow.

I will. I didn't think of myself as being a smoker anymore, but what do I know,

You could be soon though. Good luck

Col don't be too hard on yourself,pls...See it as a little blip,it's over it's done and the more you think about it the more your nicotine craving will increase, probably.I really admire anyone who's managed to quit smoking,I would love to but I've still not reached the stage where I want to,my health should dictate I stop of course but it is my  only vice, that's my justification ...Onwards and upwards Col,you've enough to deal with without beating yourself up over having a cig.

You're so right - you'll not do it until you want to. that is the key - no one can make you - if you're happy with it - it's your decision.

For Cols sake I really hope she doesn't slip - (for health reasons) - ultimately it is her decision.

Exactly Sooz,to err is human and haven't we all slipped and fell at stages in our lives over various things.I can understand her enjoying it,that's the darn thing about tobacco it reels you in so easily.I absolutely regret ever starting smoking,100% ,regret it,if we knew then what we know now it would have made refusing so easy.

Col in my relationship with tobacco resistance is futile, you've achieved such a lot,1 cig in 2 years ,good god woman that's some going,...come on pick yourself up,give a little shake and on you go to that wagon again, you'll be fine I have every faith in you.

They do, sort of. The local NHS quit smoking group worked for my late mum. The support of others giving up was important in her success, as was the weekly check up on carbon monoxide levels(they test your breath/lungs to make sure you're not having a sneaky fag now and then).

But not everyone can get to these groups...there might be support in the form of a buddy at the other end of a phone though, I'm not sure.

I wish you all the best Cologne, don't be too hard on yourself

Katerina
