Sutil passes Buemi, but Alonso can't take advantage of any slight unsettledness that Buemi is experiencing.

Three quarters of the way through and Kobayashi still hasn't made a pit stop.

It's just been announced that about 8 cars will be investigated after the race for alledged speeding under Safety Car rules. At least 5 of those cars are ahead of Alonso, so who knows where everybody will OFFICIALLY finish.

Six laps to go and it looks like Kobayashi's an a non-stopper!

Five laps to go and Hulkenberg's car has given up.
Understandably he's not very happy and kicks the tyre wall a few times once he gets out of the car.

Well, Kobayashi finally pits and comes out in P9. Alonso up to 8th, Button upto 4th.Kobayashi's already pushing Alonso.

AND HE'S PASSED ALONSO AND IS CHASING BUEMI FAST. AND ON THE LAST CORNER OF THE LAST LAP KOBAYSHI PASSES BUEMI. WHAT A FINISH!!!!

And that was only for 7th place!

All of the cars between Hamilton and Kobayashi are Under investigation. So, depending on the outcome of said investigation, it is entirely possible that Kobayashi could be credited with 3rd place.

Four of the nine drivers under investigation have been exonerated, but they wouldn't have affected the points positions, five are still under suspicion. Button, Barrichello, Kubica, Sutil and De La Rosa.

Apparently the earlier report was wrong and all drivers under investigation received a 5 second penalty. Three of the four that were previously thought to have been exonerated, Buemi, Petrov, and Liuzzi, along with De La Rosa find themselves demoted in the finishing line-up. As Hulkenberg had retired  the penalty did not alter his finishing position. The top four investigated (Button, Barrichello, Kubica and Sutil) did not lose position, as they were sufficiently ahead of each other and Alonso, the new 8th place driver.

So, only two drivers lost out, (Buemi, dmoted from 7th to 8th and De La Rosa, demoted from 10th to 12th) consequently two drivers benefitted. (Alonso, promoted from 9th to 8th and Rosberg promoted from 1th to 12th.)

Apparently Silverstone has been signed up for 17 YEARS!!!!

Q1 has started, but no-one's out yet.

Problems for McLaren, all their new upgrades aren't working.

Two cars out now and Button's just gone out now too.

A few more out now  - Glock, Kovalainen, Alonso, Button, Buemi, amongst others.
Petrov goes P1 and  Button P2, but as I type THREE others have already gone faster.

Liuzzi's in the drop zone now as Alguersuari hovers in 17th, but has aproblem and is in the pits and there is unlikely to be time for him to have another run.
Meanwhile Liuzzi jumps up to P17 and Alguersuari looks out.
Liuzzi squeezes another lap in, but stays P17. Q1 over now and Liuzzi makes Q2.

Two and a half minutes to go and there are only 7 times.

Massa and Barrichello swap places.
Schumacher goes 8th and Rosberg 9th. However Rosberg runs again and goes faster than Schumacher and De La Rosa goes faster as well so Schumacher ends up P10.

Unless there are any unforseen penalties, this looks like the starting grid too.

Liuzzi appears to have picked up a 5 place penalty and will start from 20th instead of 15th. Those between 15th and 20th go up a place.
No other penalties or changes.

Apparently Liuzzi's penalty was for obstructing Hulkenberg.

Drama from the start, Webber powers past Vettel and Hamilton tries to get past too. Hamilton and Vettel touch slightly, Vettel goes off but gets back on track still ahead of Hamilton,but he has a puncture and goes off again, allowing Hamilton and several others to pass. He limps round to the pits for new tyres and rejoins in last.
Meanwhile Alonso and Massa also have a coming together and Massa also gets a puncture and has to pit.

Alonso gets a drive through penalty for cutting ahaed of Kubica, even though Kubica is no longer running.

Heavy contact between De La Rosa and someone, debris flying all over the place, the safety car is deployed.

Alonso can't serve his penalty until AFTER the safety car goes in.

Alonso went in for his penalty as soon as the Safety Car came in, so that has dropped him well down.
