Petrov and Massa pass Alguersuari, and now Sutil has too.

Petrov has just passed Schumacher for 8th.
Button's having trouble with grip, but is far enough ahead for nurse it home in 1st.

Petrov pressing Webber, who loses grip and slides sideways a bit, but that's enough to let Petrov, who's got more grip left, through.

Massa now takes Schumacher for 9th.
Schumacher goes off, but doesn't lose any more places.

Some sort of Election thing supposedly at 12 noon on BBC1. Willthe qualifying be moved to BBC2?

Apparently it'll still be on BBC1 around 12:40, but is on the red button from 12:15

However at least one driver has already got a 5 place grid drop, but I missed who it was.

Petrov is now P 19. so it must have been he who was taking the 5 place drop, but Glock and Di Grassi have both dropped as well, to 23rd and 24th respectively....and as a result of Petrov's drop Barrichello gets to start from 17th instead of 18th.

Chandhok's had a drop now as well!

Fairly uneventful start for most, Kobayashi dropped from 10th t0 16th, Senna went off - unaided it seems - Buemi and (?) had contact. Buemi neededa new front wing and (?) needed a new rear tyre.

Vettel had a bit of trouble when he made his pit stop and lost a place to Hamilton.

Chandhok being lapped and Massa bumps his left front wing, but is told to stay out unless he can feel a problem with the wing.

Alguersuari (11th) lapping Chandhok clips his wing with his rear left tyre and goes off, but doesn't loose race position. Chandhok pits for a new wing, but has now retired.

Vettel is pushing and is catching Hamilton.

Alguersuari has been given a drive -through penalty for the collision with Chandhok.

Schumacher's holding everyone up!

Webber's got a 12 second lead over Hamilton

Vettel's got problems with his tyres and is having to pit for new ones. He exits behind Alonso and is now 4th.

Hamilton's just picked up a puncture and has crashed!

Word of warning - the qualifying's on BBC2 today. Programme starts at 12:10

Edit: Seems it's just Scotland that it's on BBC2.

Alonso's mushed his car in this morning's practice, to the extent that he won't be taking part in qualifying, but will be able to be in the race. However his chances of anything don't look good as he'll be starting from the pit lane and in last place.

Only 9 times set so far. A bit early to guess how it'll pan out.

Massa's fastest out of 20 so far.
