Not a great F1 driver, perhaps. But a great man, certainly, and a brave and singular one, too.

Apparently........Rosberg
I truly think that Nico has come out of this the better man
Who'll be in Rosberg's seat next year?

They're thinking Bottas from Williams and Massa resindng (sp) his agreement to come back for Williams
Alonso was a fool then

I still think it's a 'shite' that Sky can have it all but hey ho.....if peeps stopped buying it.......

Is that a real question, or an answer to my question?
If a real question, then the answer is Bottas.

It seems as though he's the one Fluffs

He's ruined his career with McClaren
He's the only one people want to take the challenge to Hammy - and win

No, he hasn't ruined his career with Mclaren........they just haven't supplied him with the right car, as did they didn't with Button, and that said Honda were never that bad and it just makes me wonder
Alonso and Button are both world beaters given the right car. They didn't have.....
Alonso is in the twilight of his career and by staying with McClaren he's made sure he will never win another race let alone title and if you're sure to never win what's the point?
He's ruined his career cos he can never win with that team

Nah, he's still got a chance, he's only 35, given what age some other peeps have gone on to
Given the right car, he can still make it......although I'm not a great fan of his.... it's the team I have a passion for

A ruined career - he should have bailed
But if you 'need the right car' are you truly a world beater?

We'll just see who switches teams before the start of the 2017 season and who can help each other out

In a way I agree with you Fluffs It's a case of working with what you've got yeah?
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing posted:But if you 'need the right car' are you truly a world beater?
Well - yes you need the right car
It's like turning up to the Grand National on a donkey

I still say, if you've got the right car......
Some drivers are very good without being in the right car.....I think Jolyon Palmer is better than he's given credit for
Schumacher, Vettel, Verstappen....and a few others all showed their abilities in 'NOT the right car'. If you become Average, or an Also-ran when NOT in the right car are you really that great?
You can be great and lose if you're not given the right tools
Alonso is a perfect example

It's been nailed on Bottas since the story originally broke.
Just remind me again who is the engine supplier to Williams?
Verstappen proved himself to be a driver worth a chance when he was promoted to Red Bull. His time at Red Bull has justified their faith in him ...so far.
As for Palmer, I've not seen him race in any other class so can't really judge him, well only on what he does at present. Whether he can step up to being a top 6 driver - who knows. I guess he has to follow Max's example to some degree, try and get the best from the equipment you have and use your head on track.
At last! Eccers is no more.....sort of

I wouldn't get your hopes up this lot will be any better
Yeah but at least Ross Brawn's involved now. He's actually been a team manager and knows what goes on
Right yer geriatric midget - bugger off
Sorry only fooling - still glad he's gone though
But the thing is.....he hasn't. He's still lurking, somewhere there....in the background
He is? How come?
Ecclestone, 86, who has been in charge for nearly 40 years, has been appointed chairman emeritus and will act as an adviser to the board.
So no influence
Yes, well, we'll see!

Emeritus Sprout - Grand title but no say, but probably pay.
I think it's the start of his slide out of the F1 back door.

Yeah, someone told me about this tonight. It's a shame. I like to see the 'smaller' teams in it, and let's face it....all they need is half a mill. If I had it, I'd give it
