I was saying at work that this was a make or break year for Rosberg. I felt he had to win a championship or he would implode. I know he's not won it yet but it's probably worse if he loses out now having been in such a strong position.

Did I hear boos for EJ?
EJ - can't listen to him!
EJ got the winner wrong.
I notice that Kimi and Nico have not yet signed deals for 2017.

No, his prediction before the race.
Austria.
It's all looking a bit
Action packed - and we've only had Q1 so far!
It's proving a very expensive track for a lot of the teams.
The track is definitely not suspension friendly. Those lovely yellow kerbs are a real and present danger to drivers.
Quick, get your laps in, could be rain.
Risk of rain now!
Hulkenberg being investigated for maybe being too fast through the yellow flags!
I would park the car now that I got a good time if I were Lewis. Not sure why they keep going in Q2.

Yeah, some of the decisions seem a bit strange.

Mercedes hand has been forced by the other top runners using a different tyre strategy.

Just thought, could be that they'd rather start the race on a different type of tyre, so they try to run again, but faster!

See my post ^.
Looks like they have been thwarted in that idea as the rain has done for them.
Do you think the Channel 4 sound is a little down?
I have my TV slightly louder than normal and it still seems a bit low in volume.
Now it's very important to get a decent lap on the board.
Inters! There's quite a lot of spray.

I love changeable weather and especially a wet race.

Seems OK at my end, I haven't felt the need to adjust anything.
Track's improving, time's are tumbling!
BUTTON
Who needs a countdown clock for eliminating cars when you get this excitement.
Mad scramble for slicks!

I know, I think that idea wasn't thought through properly.
1 lap shoot out
BUTTON !!!!!!
YES.
That shootout was quite crazy! But very exciting!
That was good. Wish all qualies were that exciting. Nicely mixed up grid too. Although I've thought that in the past and it's been a damp squib.
Any chance of the race being like that?

And Rosberg and Vettel have grid penalties, so Hulkenberg gets promoted to the front line of the grid.

Despite knowing the grid penalties of Nico and Seb before qualification, Hamilton still went for it, so that is encouraging. He could easily have kept it tidy and finished 2nd or 3rd.
Bump for later.
It was interesting shall I say
What a boring race!
NOT REALLY.
Plenty to watch.
Ferrari over using the tyres again.
Some retirements.
Button doing well.
Manor picking up points.
Nico being very creative with the limits of the track !!
BUT, Lewis wins and I think it was crucial he did other wise I think his season would have slowly fizzled out. A win at Silverstone and we have it nicely set up for the second half of the season.
Toto Wolff - Brilliant reaction - would love to have been a fly on the wall during that debrief.
British Grand Prix - Silverstone
Shame I am working so can't watch free practice, but looking forward to the weekend, especially after last weeks high jinx.
What's the weather looking like - pretty mixed according to the weather forecast. Good, might make it all the more interesting.
