Interesting....one of the changes being introduced next year is wider tyres. This should lead to better tyre endurance and less need for tyre management/conservation.
I watched something on telly last night where a team changed 4 tyres in 2 seconds
Qualifying times without spoilers:
1:32.850 for pole
1:33.264
1:33.240
1:33.467
1:33.584
1:33.632
So gap between 1st and 2nd 0.414 seconds
and gap between 2nd and 6th 0.368 seconds.
That was a good race!

Why do they bother?
He's a pain and irrelevance now.
F1 is moving on and he will have to relent .. can't wait tbh
Hamilton throws his toys out of the pram over what seems to me as his own stupid behaviour.

It may well be (taken in isolation) something 'super funny'...... but during a press conference?

Probably not going to watch until later in the evening as i know the result thanks to the BBC blurting it out before i could switch channels.
You'll need to find a way of muting the TV before it starts!

I had literally woken up, reached over to the remote, pressed one to hear the words X has won the GP at...
Too late to do anything in my half awake state.
But I did manage to get these words out of mouth as I changed channel "Thanks BBC you f*****g piece of carp".
Hulkenberg's comment as he overtakes Bottas' Williams is a classic.
"See you later"

Gifted driver but lifestyle questions for the three pointed star.
Over the hill already Velvet?

He needs to shut his gob....boot could be on the foot next race
Seems a bit of a non-story to me.
Qualifying, Channel 4 @ 6pm, though Q1 probably won't start until 7. It's from Mexico, the place that'll be behind a wall if Trump's elected!
Colourful language!
Someone insulted Alonso too
During free practice
Any ideas?
I'm still pissed at the engine blow up a couple of weeks ago...see he threw the winners cap on the table rather than pass it to Lewis, what a miserable **** he is
I was so hoping that Ricciardo would have had the opportunity to pass Vettel. Really enjoyable driving from Vesty.
Lewis had it pretty easy after the start and Nico was also in control. Unless something happens in next race to Nico, he has it in the bag and taking seconds is fine for him.

I've seen footage of Hammy throwing a runner up cap at Nico
Reciprocal?

great editing ...not
There's something about Hammy I don't like
I like Nico - again - not sure why

Kvyat's becoming like Ralph Schuey.......he cannot drive an F1 car
Button
Jens
Big chunk of time from the Mercs to the next team.
Aww Williams Just wish they could be more competitive.
Yep, I can't think what's gone so wrong. Like McLaren, they were never that bad
Good for Alonso in a Mac to get in to Q3 though
Wozzy
That was close and quite exciting. So little between the two of them.
We'll have to hope Lewis gets a bad start again

Max Verstappen - driver of the day - Brilliant.
Lewis keeping the fight going, the way a real racing great would do.
Max was absolutely fantastic!
As for Lewis - it's for Rosberg to lose really.

Yes Max was breathtaking. the kind of racer we sorely lack.
Yes, it's Nico's to lose and I expect him to be conservative again, trying to stay out of trouble and I expect him to do enough, but we would not be in this position of a final race decider if it were not for Lewis' efforts over the last few races, not forgetting he also wrote another piece of F1 history this weekend.
Abu Dhabi Q1 Just finished - no-one seems to have crashed/broken down!
No-one watching then? All these battles to be resolved as well!!!!!
Rossssssberrrrrggggg !!!!!!! Whoop !!!
Yay soooooooooooo happy Nico won !!!
Me too Saint
Heart was in my mouth for the last 5 laps
Couldn't have gone to a nicer guy
Not a fan of holding up the race to allow other drivers to catch up and ruin it for Nico - found it to be poor sportsmanship.
Loved Jensen's interview - he seemed soooo over his F1 career immediately which is pleasing. Will miss him.
He's a nice enough chap and at no point did I ever wish him (or anyone else for that matter) ill, but I was never too fussed about him.

I was willing Vetel and Verstappen not to catch Rosberg.
Nico Rosberg has announced that he's retired from Formula 1 with immediate effect just 5 days after he won the title.

I think Massa is a 'nicer' guy and nicer than Nico. So if we are talking nicer guy's, there is one for a starter.
As for holding up the race, Lewis had to use everything he had available to put himself in with a chance of winning the race, putting Nico enough places back to lose the championship. Lewis drove a great race. Nico could have made Lewis' plan fruitless if he had taken it upon himself to overtake Lewis on track, which he did not, deciding instead to hold position.
What I got from the post race interview (reading between the lines) is that Vettel would have been unlikely to overtake Nico and Max's tires had gone anyway. I'm sure the info about Max would have been transmitted to Nico.
Big shock is that he has announced his retirement. I guess he achieved what he wanted and it's time for something else.
Get Jenson in the other Merc now. Two Brits would be great.
To counter . . .
If Hammy hadn't of had sooo many poor starts he could have challenged Nico and not been sooo far behind on points. Simple poor driving.
And then to blame Mercedes for not giving him a reliable car!!! What an insult.
On his twitter account he made an obvious 'about-turn' possibly after the dressing down he deserved from the guys that pay his wages and began to praise the team at length.
This is also the guy that published Maclaren car info on-line for all to see shortly before he jumped ship.
Well done NICO - really shocked at his retirement
BBC look at the various possible replacement's as Hamilton's team-mate.

I would love MV to be challenging for the title, he is sure to be there soon, however, we don't know that Mercedes will be top of the pile with the changes being brought in next year
I just hope its not Ferrari
