I've given up for tonight..... I can't physically force him. He knows what's at stake...... if he's stupid enough to mess it up.... then maybe he doesn't deserve the place anyway.

Did that sound convincing...?

I wouldn't rush to take that leaf Ev.....I'm not sure it works that well.

He's been sat down here with me for the last hour and a half....Economics book in his lap..... but I bet the actually amount of revision that has gone on is less than ten mins! The other 85 minutes were taken up by moaning, planning of revision, checking exam dates, asking me random questions about who was prime minister when I was a child, more moaning, asking me what time it is, moaning, trying to balance his highlighter on the cats head, moaning.......and so it goes on...and on.....and on.

I've sent him for a break......COS I NEED ONE!

Am i allowed to moan?

oh go on then i will

I have had my ears bent with the moaning about what to write, how to relax, when to sleep, when not to sleep (dont ask) how to get to brain to flow better. How to stop anxieties.. she says im an expert on this as i have had plenty of practice.

What to eat in the morning...it goes on... and what are the similarities between Wuthering heights and the Colour purple..... and other book of the same theme!  Then she turns around and says do you want to do the exam

Anyway, ive learned to multi-task again and have the desire to  watch the Colour Purple .... boys must be easier .. surely??

I think I'm gonna go with......as long as he's happy with how much he did...... then I'll be happy too.

And if he ends up kicking himself for not working hard enough.....well........I'll be there to give him a helping hand as always.

That's what parents do isn't it? as far as I know

Spoken like a true teacher ... and mother (not necessarily in that order)

We're relaxing a bit here - youngest one has just finished her AS exams.

I feel for all you A2 bods

My god...    I am waaay beyond that point..    hydrating drinks at intervals was the sort of pleasant supporting parent to studious teenager role I was doing a couple of years ago...

the only danger of hydrating drinks were the ones she nearly got poured on her head when she was still in bed at 1pm a couple of weeks ago

I have bought her some red bulls today though...   cos she is back in the game now n all that.

You sensed the hysteria in my words then?

I've been chanting it myself for the past 2 months...

Dirtyprettygirlthing

Yes - again.

No 1 son has just finished his uni exams today, no 2 son had just started his A2s today.

No 2 son deserves to do well - he has spent a lot of time revising, but he is also resitting some of his January exams which he didn't do so well in, so I am sooooooooo worried that on results day I amd going to go through a re-run of 2 years ago!!

The trouble is he is taking all ehat I would call "essay " type subjects. How I wish he was takjing subjects where the answer is right or wrong so you can be more sure of how well you have done. I will be glad when the exams are over, but I know that is only the beginning - results day is far far worse!!

Moomin

omg...  it was 2 years ago wasn't it??     Doesn't time fly!

Ickles resitting some her Jan exams too..    she got Glandular Fever in August last year... knocked her out til Dec/Jan, and she's had a couple of relapses since..    so its a tense one for me too.

We'll be ok Moomin.....    what happened 2 years ago with your no.1 son proves that..    whatever happens there is always a way forward.

(would be nice if it all goes well for them all though eh?)

God this second hand stress thing is bloody horrible!

How is no.1 son getting on?   Is he enjoying his course?

Dirtyprettygirlthing

He's loving it thank you Ditty - the exam he took today was an exam he should have taken after Christmas but when went back to uni a week earlier - specifically to study, he went down with a nasty virus and what the campus Doc thought was glandular fever (although the blood tests came back negative), He was excused the exam - he couldn't even drag himself our of bed let alon to an exam room and so took it on his own today. However he was worried sick about it because it was all stuff that he studied before Christmas and had forgotten and he had his current exams to sit last week, so he's been pretty down about this one today. Particularly as he was supposed to be going to see Take that last night and had to give up his ticket for this exam.

Will we ever stop worriying?

prob not.

btw..  Ickles blood test came back negative for GF too..    its a common false negative apparently.   They diagnosed her from her symptoms after a month - she was proper poorly, at home for about 3 months...   and like you say your son was..     unable to actually stand up & get down the doctors...  its horrible.

Its amazing she's managed to catch up really.

As for your son being pretty down about his exam today...    in our house it tends to be the ones they think they have done badly on that they do really well on...    and vice versa...

Dirtyprettygirlthing

Welcome to our little club Moomin.

Tried to get Duds up for college this morning.....once again he insisted he could revise just as well at home. I didn't have time to argue.....so just made sure he was out of bed and left him to it. I asked him how much he did when I got home......"plenty" he said....in a rather unconvincing voice.

One week, two days to go........

Ducky
