Yea I can't stand Cheryl, so what? I just don't understand why the public and the media put her on such a high pedestle!
The media do it cos they make money from it. In that world it matters not a jot whether you as a publisher, like someone or not, it's what's gonna sell your publication and/or encourage hits to your website, It's all about shekels and who you know, not what you know. When you work in a world like that, you have to learn to swim with the sharks and personal feelings towards celebs have to be pushed aside.

She just seems so insincere like Alexanadre Burke, seems very false, the fact she mimed on a appearance whilst supposed to be a judge on a singing contest (what!), gets by on her looks, the list goes on.
How does that make her an idiot or any more false than any other celeb?
She has been in a very successful girl band. She is young so she is in touch with what the younger record buying public likes. She has been through a reality talent show and she has been a successful solo artist. Ergo she has as much right to be a judge as any of them have,
And what the heck has Alexandra Burke done? The woman has oodles of talent.

Can you tell me which famous women you do like and why?

Joanna Lumley, Vicki Butler Henderson, Sarah Pains Mum, Sue Barker, Sophie something BBC1 newsreader, Dawn French.
All in a different fields, more serious fields to Cheryl Cole and Alexandra Burke and most of them considerably older.  I assume you mean Sara Payne, the mother of the murdered child, Sarah Payne?  And newsreader, Newsnight host Sophie Raworth?

As regards Sara Payne, her tragic loss puts her in a unique place among those you've listed and an exceptional and unfair example to expect Cheryl and Alexandra to measure up to.

I think I get what you mean about falseness but I'd think of it as materialistic  shallowness that goes hand in hand with that area of mass entertainment.  I have to admit I find it pretty distasteful that Cheryl Cole will wear a dress costing ÂĢ300,000 plus jewellery for a glorified singing competition but that's showbiz.  In my view, aside from that I tend to think Cheryl Cole comes over as quite down to earth and somewhat troubled currently.  I don't really know too much about Alexandra Burke but she seems quite pleasant and honest in the few interviews I've seen of her.

To be fair, he does have a point about Alexandra's interview technique. If you imagine someone being at the complete opposite end of the spectrum to Leona Lewis. E.g., talking to someone with the persona of a corpse in comparison to talking to someone pumped to the gills of LSD and too many e numbers.

A happy medium would be most welcome. Perhaps this year, in Wagner, that medium will be found.
