who buys CD's these days, She must of flogged a fair few  downloads as she's on course to  make the top 20 this week.

Cheryl Cole only got 27k downloads and has got to number 1. Just goes to show you could virtually buy your own music and you'd be classed as 'popular' in the UK, which will then lead to further PR from your record label. Not a bad self-investment venture if you've got the spare wonga to do it.

Considering Cheryl performed her single to an audience of 13 million (approx), 27k is really a bit piss poor. And no, I'm not jealous of her before the defence party start getting their thongs in a twist!

Cheryl Cole is a joke, I thought she was supposed to be a judge on a crap singing contest, yet she mimes when she performs herself, no wonder she is the halfwit that she is.

Bloody hell with so few sales required to get into the charts with a small amount behind you you could buy your place into the charts.

I remember the days of hundreds of thousands of sales needed to get to number 1.

Mind you though nowadays the singles chart is meaningless....it's album sales that count.

99% of her performances I've seen haven't been mimed.

Poor Girls Aloud Nadine.  The song's rubbish and cliché ridden - which she's written herself apparently.  Good for her for taking that gamble of writing her own stuff but I guess she should stick to her day job of singing and looking fit.  It all sounds a bit 80s to my ears and career suicide.  Rachel Stevens launched her solo career with quite strong catchy pop songs but still fell by the wayside, even though she was considered the prettiest and highest profile member of that group.  So Girls Aloud Nadine was onto a bit of a loser with such a poor debut.

It's over-produced. Too much going on. Just a complete jumble of noise and drums and warbling. You couldn't play it in a club and fill the floor cos it's not easy to dance to. You can't listen to it in the car cos the beat requires too much concentration to play air piano on the steering wheel. Even nodding your head to it makes you look more affected than in the moment of a 'good tune'. She'd be best hiring a top DJ and releasing a dance remix. Or just change direction.

Still, at least she's bucking the trend for female singers tarting themselves up like prostitutes or strippers to sell records, by, errrrm, wearing stockings and not much else in the video..

I still buy CDs and have hundreds of CD albums but when it comes to CD singles I think I only have around six of them.  Perhaps that's it, a CD single is pretty expensive for what it is.  Probably better to just download singles IMO.

I think they should make an illegal download top 40 as well.

Not quite sure how they'd get the figures for it though I'll have to put more thought into that part of the idea.

The amount of units shifted is never a reflection on the quality of singing, songwriting, or whatever. It's that indefinable extra something which for the sake of this post I will call the X-Factor.

The hair extensions are clearly alluded to in the adverts. 
I am not a huge fan of hers but she certainly does not deserve the vitriol that you heap on her.
