While everyone in the country seems to be ranting on about the sh** that was our football team yesterday (I am going by what I read and hear as I didn't see the match), I would like to mention another England team that deserves our praises, and got about 30 seconds on the sports news on BBC breakfast this morning as opposed to the 10 or more mins that was afforded the Football team.
I an avid football fan, but I also love cricket, as does my younger son, and so for his birthday I bought him a ticket to see England play Australia in a one day match yesterday. I was gutted to see we would miss the world cup match, but turns out I made a good choice.
It looked like we might lose after a collapse towards the end, but we fought back and have now won the one day series against our biggest rivals in cricket.
I saw our lads play cricket with sportsmanship, humour and talent and above all pride, and made me proud to be English yesterday, so let's big them up and give them the congratualations they deserve.
WELL DONE ENGLAND CRICKET TEAM!!!!!
