Always happens to England, never see this cr*p with any other countries
There was an article in the Grauniad yesterday saying that the Italians are amazed at our "starchiness!" This sort of stuff is ten a penny there and Capello has been in charge of players who have had the same sort of exciting love life. More reason to think that his hand has been forced? Or has he misjudged the attitude of football supporters?

I klnow nothing about football (except the offside rule ) but I was discussing it with the male footie fans in the office yesterday before he'd been sacked and that other bloke bumped up. I suggested that (aside from the whole issue with it being the ex-partner of a team mate - but she's an ex so it should affect him should it??) his shoddy behaviour should not affect his position as football does not hold any moral implications as say politics would do - there's no "trust" element. it's merely blokes kicking a ball about (no offence ) and that's the skill that counts all else aside.

The general view they had was that it DID matter because this is world cup year (it is?? **shrugs**) and if England won that would be tarnished. Bobby Charlton is hailed as a paragon of sport and remembering the "win of 2010" would be sullied if Terry was the captain ... even more so if he became Sir Terry as a result.

Next time try discussing it with real football fans.
