I find one of these mother and child lamps can really heat a room with a small telly. 300w halogen bulb but certainly no need for heating in a fair sized bedroom

I’ve never heard of those Velvet â€Ķthank you I’ll check it out I’ve already started using less water in my bath , and I’ve started shutting the room doors â€Ķ.plus , I had a gift card , so I’ve ordered one of those fleece , hooded blankets ready for next winter .

Don't heat your room or your house - heat yourself, that's all you need now the frost is almost over.

So, hottie botty and comfort blankie - not joking, it works, botty stays hot all night long if you keep it under your blankie LOL. Not forgetting early to bed and early to rise should cut down on lighting costs. Light exercise via domestic chores should keep you warm too.

We have the problem of air conditioning costing a fortune here. Our electricity bill already averages $300 a month. I only use the oven at night or first thing because it heats the house too much, but the reverse
might help you.

You can cook loads in an air fryer and it uses a fraction of the electricity of the stove.

We cook everything from scratch, it is much cheaper. We bake large pots of chili, spaghetti sauce, stew, etc and freeze part and alternate. Once you get into a rhythm it’s no effort. I have got living on nothing down to a fine art!

Check for draughts and shove a blanket or towel over them. Wash clothes and dishes with cold water. Don’t laugh at me!

Some good tips there Roxan I might start using my halogen cooker â€Ķrather than putting the big cooker onâ€Ķ.although as there is only me I rarely use the oven for more than about half an hour . I cook from scratch too â€Ķ.can’t remember the last time I had a ready meal .
