No. I'm wound up enough and am logging off now
Exit Poll has Tories losing their overall majority!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-40208731
Mind you; a majority is still within the margin of error...
I would like to ask if the Tories have so obviously run down Police numbers, saw food banks increase, have no support from nurses etc... etc ...
How have they won?

'Cos there just don't seem to be enough disenfranchised people!
Or they've been persuaded that the TORIES ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN SAVE (oops!) them, despite current appearances!
Have Sunderland declared yet?

Not quite yet, probably not far away though. A few more hours should do it!

I'll declare that despite Sunderland having some amazing churches (almost on every street corner) the place is a horrible and more than second class to Newcastle,
Sad but true

EC there with his finger on the pulse of the nation (for literally no reason)

2nd declaration of the night: Labour's retained Houghton and Sunderland South.
Conservative vote up, and UKIP vote's collapsed.
I am shattered after a days work and two pints of IPA. Really want to stay up and watch this election coverage.

Even more remarkably, I think he's retained his deposit (just)!
(5.7%; >5% required)
Still nearly a 16% swing against, though...
Midnight and only 4 results so far.
That's not bad though, considering that the polling stations only closed at 10 pm!
Late night!
I need to go to bed.
I really want to stay up.
I'm going to be so pissed off if the tactical vote against the SNP put the Tories back in tomorrow.
Hmm.......
SNP still the biggest party in Scotland and still 3rd in Westminster!
Tories still the biggest party in Westminster, though without a majority.
Things may have changed a bit, but is there any likelihood of any improvement anywhere?
Extremely proud of Jeremy Corbyn this morning, 80 news items two days before the election on the BBC facebook page...17 positive for the Tories 0 mention of the Labour Party and there's no bias
Now Mayhem is talking about forming a government with the terrorist supporting DUP how ironic is that You couldn't make it up really
5 recounts in Hasting for Elmer Fudd, Hastings is in total shock she got back in...In Copeland my cousin's husband went to vote and someone had used is vote and he's not the only one, Tory just scrapped in again
Anyway, May is done thank goodness and hopefully some of her wicked policies and her hard Brexit or no Brexit which would leave the UK in total economic collapse.
My ward,Glasgow North East returns to labour, well done Paul Sweeney, the only one who canvassed at my door.
Owen Smith admitting he was wrong about Corbyn
â feeling amused.
Oh and what happened to riots in the streets by Momentum if the Labour didn't win reported by the Express...well us lefties labeled thugs are in no fit state to riot and our Doctor's, teachers, nurses members haven't the because they are working and not got time to fit in thuggery
after spending the entire Election campaign falsely accusing Jeremy Corbyn of being a terrorist sympathiser, May now makes a deal with them. They are also anti gay, anti abortion, Ruth Davidson is going to love working with them ...I can smell the l rancid tory hypocrisy from here.

and that'll be the Ruth Davidson being lauded as very successful in Scotland. Who's kidding who - it was a kick in the nuts for the SNP, not a vote for Tory policy.
Strapline on the BBC news......
The government I lead will put fairness at it's heart.
Yeah right. She doesn't know the bloody meaning of the word
Soooo glad Nuttal got a thrashing
Goodbye to your thuggery and hopefully goodbye UKIP

Yes, that was one result that instantly put a smile on my face. Nuttal is an irrelevance. So much so I should not even be giving him column inches on GGJJ.

Can't remember who posted it on Twitter but the comment was 'Now Nuttall's gone should UKIP not just be renamed 'that bloke Farage'?
Now that was a very long, interesting night I'm not very happy about them getting into the bed with the DUP, but it's better than the alternative , and I guess , unlike the IRA, they've never tried to blow us up .....so I can put up with it ...just

Yes
Afternoon all.
According to my activity tracker, I had 1 hour and 6 minutes sleep last night, so I'm struggling to form a sentence.
A hung parliament is not a good result for anyone but I was impressed with Ruth Davidson and the Scottish Conservative's showing.
I don't agree with Kaffs that Ruth's popularity was solely an attempt to bloody the nose of the SNP. My area was a Labour stronghold from 1997 until 2015, so if the voters simply wanted to slap down the SNP and Indyref2, why didn't they revert to Labour who also claim to be pro union?
In 2015, the SNP candidate won with a majority of 3718, with Labour in second place and Conservatives in third place.
Yesterday, the Scottish Conservative candidate in my area secured the seat with a 4,712 majority - a swing of 13.4% from the SNP - that's some turnaround.

There may have been some cheers from my house when Robertson and then Salmond went.

i was just going to post the same ....if they wanted to simply protest they could have voted Labour or Lib Dems ....but they made a conscious chose to vote Conservative

Oh and here! Brilliant news that. I don't think all the votes for Tories were to spite the SNP, and I know there have always been pockets of support for them in Scotland, but on the whole I think there was a LOT of tactical voting - nobody thought Labour could turn it around the way they did and it was rammed down people's throats by all the 'tactical voting' apps online that only a Tory vote could oust the SNP (maybe if old Kez had shown a bit more faith in Jezza?) and imo if everyone voted with their heart instead of what they thought was their head, there wouldn't have been quite so many blue patches. All in all though, I was very impressed with the showing and have a bit of hope now for the future (once the terrorist sympathising May (be careful what you accuse your opponent of if you're going to cosy up to undesirables yourself) has worked her notice ) - so I guess we're both happy!
PS I may be responsible for SNP keeping their seat in NE Fife. Colleague in the office didn't know who to vote for - never voted Labour in her life, has voted LibDem in every election ever (she's 60) This time, she took me at my word when I said 'go on - if you're not sure give Labour your vote' She did, so did her hubby and her sister. I believe SNP held on to the seat by 2 votes....
Sorry!

LIke I say- I looked at a few 'who to vote for in your area to keep the SNP out' sites - all said Tory. I got very preachy over the past week saying 'Vote with your heart!'
