elderly pets make me sad

i was asked to judge a fun dog show once but couldnt, particularly cos of the category "golden oldie", how can you pick a best one?  i just look into their eyes and it makes me wanna cry

but to answer your question katty, i don't have any elderly pets at the mo, barney was almost 18 when i lost him and my bunny lived til over 8 which apparently is a good age for a bunny

Aww,it can be sad,but if you have done your best to give your pet a good life then that's good.I had bunnies (see my avatar pic) Rio the tri colour lop lived to 8,Cleo the grey, sadly we lost at aged 4.Gut stasis and bloat did for her,we had to get her put to sleep. Some buns can live to 10 to 12 years old.

Aww Katty they were beautiful bunnies.  I wasn't going to get any more after I lost my sonny, he was all black dwarf, but that empty indoor cage was just calling for someone to fill it, ended up getting two, one of which didnt do so well after neutering and we had to keep them separated for a while, tried our best to introduce them slowly back together but fur was flying   now there are two indoor cages

Jade, my doggy loves the bunnies, she licks them, although she can be quite strong so i don't let her in the room with them when they are out - they can't get away as easily as the cat can when they've had enough of her

the bunnies are fine when they are outside, its just when they are inside, the fur flies

Hmm,sounds like territory dispute, girl buns are in the main  more fighty than boys, you have to try  and re bond them. The site is good ,most advice is try a neutral  room etc where no rabbit scent is.I used my hallway when we bonded nuetered Rio with a young Cleo,he was actually ok,a bit of humping which is normal even in neutered buns,it's a dominance thing, girl buns do it too.

Mine are both boys, would love them to be friends again.  Must work on it again
