Good idea Squiggle - but you've got to be extra savvy about it re Saint.

There are basically two ways to do it and both ways start with you considering what is the MINIMUM price you would sell it for. You also want to describe it attractively and show a picture of it displayed attractively.

Having decided on the minimum price you either start the bidding at that level (and hope it will go higher) or you start it off a bit lower, in order to generate interest, but put a reserve on it which equals your minimum selling price.

P.S. Just thought of a third way, put it on at a Fixed Price - first person to offer that price gets it!

always Goofbay - put in what I'm happy to pay and don't look at it again until it's all done and dusted. If I lose it c'est la vie - it's not sensible to get into a bidding war and paying more than you think something is worth IMO.

Try not to spend too much!

Like you I will never get into a bidding war. If I get it I get it, if not then that's life and I move onto the next thing - will NEVER go over my maximum.

If you do that you will be outbid, 20 seconds is really pushing it, keep your nerve and go in under 10 - wise advice, but will you take it? The one with the most stars is the one you are going to have to look out for - he has a lot of experience and he wants it, he really wants it.

Best advice, log in about 15 minutes before, you will be able to gauge how much the bids are changing, if it gets too hot, back away.  If it looks as if it's going to wait until the very last second slap in your bid as advice above ^^^^^^ and remember an odd number at the end - say Β£35.57 Good Luck!

Your max bid bid is never viewable unless you're outbid.

If someone wants it more than you and outbids you c'est la vie.

There's always tomorrow

I reckon you're after a pipe but items reoccur so stick to what you reckon it's worth to you.
