I agree with Bozzi. Tell him it's not at your house so not possible for him to collect.

You sound incredibly stressed just at the thought of him turning up....how you gonna feel if you are pressured into agreeing? That's what he's doing btw...pressuring you. Be firm and stand your ground. If the sale falls through then relist it. One bit of bad feedback won't harm. You do get a chance to leave comments on his feedback too. eg....pushy buyer!!!

Good luck Thumbs Up

I do feel he's trying to back me into a corner now but I'm not going to give in Shake Head

Thank you all for all your help! Valentine

If it's listed with P&P included and he agreed that price then he has to pay it....unless you agree to collection and take off the P&P charge. As you're not going to do that then he either pays the full amount or he doesn't get the item. Paypal is easy. You just transfer whatever he has paid back to him and relist the item with a line "relisted due to timewaster". He is wasting your time.

He should have haggled before he bought the item...not after Thumbs Up

Oh dear - thought I'd just pop back to see if you'd managed to resolve it all DD.

Please don't let this really worry you. I know it's your first sale on eBay but it will iron itself out in the end I promise you.

Just tell him that you do not wish for the item to be collected in person as you would have indicated that fact in your auction blurb had you been happy to BUT, as you did not, he really cannot force you to change the situation now that the auction has ended and he has committed to buy.

He should have asked that question prior to close of auction.

If he wants the item that badly, he will respect your wishes.

Once you're an old established hand on eBay, you'll look back on your first sale and smile.

Please don't let it cause you grief though DD. I know that's easy for me to say but, as I said above, it will resolve itself.

Chin up. Smiler

I have done as you and Joe said Hyacith and explained that I will only post the item! Nod

I'm just going to leave it until he contacts me now! If he doesn't I'll just re-list it....

...it is pretty nerve wracking though Laugh I did however feel a rush of adrenalin when it was sold!!!!

I find it easier to ask you guys what I need to know as my mind goes blank reading stuff on the actual site, plus I get it in laymans terms here.....

I'll let you know how I go on Nod no doubt I'll have more questions for you soon! Laugh Valentine

Thumbs Up If he does pay I'll let him leave feedback 1st, then I can go off that! Nod

Just as a matter of interest did you have a look at his feedback score?

If you don't get too scarred by your first experience and carry on selling you can learn a lot from the ebay boards (forum), there are some very helpful people on there, and just by lurking you can learn a lot Smiler

Nod I've been doing that this Morning! Thumbs Up

One more thing...if he does pay through paypal, am I ok to send the package straight off...I wouldn't want to send it off and him claim the money back for any reason....how long should I leave it before I post it? Big Grin

As long as the paypal payment is not an e-cheque , which can take ages to clear, you can send the item as soon as you are sure the money is in the paypal acccount, the ÂĢ sign icon on your My ebay page will change colour, but check your paypal account too.

He said he was passing Bolton and going to Brum and would pay me cash....I think i'd prefer paypal, I know he doesn't want to pay the postage but I'm not willing to have him know where i live as he is very pushy!!! Blimey, if i knew it was this stressful I wouldn't have bothered! Lol!

If he pays you in cash neither of you are protected if anything goes wrong, also if you didn't specify collection in person on your listing he has no right to do so.
mrsstipe
I am wondering if i should email him and tell him to decide whether he wants it or not, he doesn't seem trustworthy to me & i know for a fact there's been lots of dodgy notes round these parts for weeks! Nod

He is abit scary!!!! Nod There is no way I will do this other than through paypal Shake Head He knew that i would only post before he bid and how long the post would take! Nod Arsehole! Laugh

You can pull out of the deal anytime if he hasn't paid. He may leave you negative feedback but as I said earlier you can comment on it and say you didn't feel comfortable with the way things were going or whatever.

I've bought and sold on ebay and I stick to what it says on my description. There are always chancers out there but the time for haggling and asking questions is before you win/buy...not after.
Cagney
Sounds to me like he bought the item thinking he could persuade you to trade for cash in hand and never had any intention of paying the postage. Either that or he needs the item urgently (maybe selling on to someone else?)

Be firm and state that 'with all due respect' collection was never an option and while you appreciate that it would be more convenient for him to do it this way, your preference is postage.

I have collected items from people before, but have always had either someone else or the dog with me (and made sure I had the person's full name, phone number, full address etc). I'm not sure if I would allow collection from my home. In a way it's similar to freecycle, and people are always collecting from other people's homes, it's purely down to preference I think.

Judging from some of his feedback I think he is going to sell it on, I only changed it to Buy It Now after he had contacted me as he said he wanted it and i didn't want to do the deal behind Ebays back!!!!

I don't care how much he sells it on for, I just want what i asked for it, half of the unit is also going by a different seller for the price he'll have paid including the postage, it was originally bidding only and that was listed for 7 days, should've left it at that!!!!!

No..not at all. Make sure you inform him though, you never know it may make him change his mind. He's probably harmless....a chancer but you have to treat it like a business. You want to make money from this and you won't if you give in all the time. It's making you uneasy and that is not a good sign. You're the boss....he wants what you have. Stay in control.
