It should be taken to a vote and if the majority want it, well then, skeleton staff on duty
I'm not,,,two days a year they are guaranteed a day off,,, and that's a bit sh*tty to be honest
There seems to be more places closed round here than on Christmas day which seems a bit strange.
If staff are happy to work then I don't see any problem with it at all.

and the skeleton staff would be made up with married women with children,,,its a flipping day not a month,, I just can't see the logic in having a family day and maybe a religious day disrupted because someone hasn't had the hindsight to stock up

But they wouldn't be voting for working that day so prolly the place wouldn't open
you're all very religious down there... Easter tends to pass the shops by up here with hardly a blip. I truly believe it's only a matter of time till the big shops are open on Christmas day.

I think so too Kaffs .... And nurses, doctors and other public services have to work , so ....
If staff wish to work then that is fine, we live in a multicultural society and not everyone is religious or a believer in religion which recognises Easter or the elements contained within.
For example on Christmas Day I noted more shops open this year.
Mind you... I don't go near a shop on holidays, so it's all fine by me...

I hadn't even thought that most places would be closed today and needed bread. We went out in the car to see if there were any shops open and found most of the small independent shops open but bigger shops closed.
I'm usually very anti holiday openings but .....................thank God for Spar
