The saying "he can charm the birds from the trees" is a saying.  EastEnders script writers use it as the basis for most of their plots.  For instance, who'd bet against an affair between the Phil Mitchell character and the Lola character?  Implausible in real life, but highly plausible in EastEnders.

Then there's the two other tropes "women love a bad boy", "opposites attract".  That's covered pretty much all the relationships in East Enders.

Phil hasn't forgotten: it's been "dealt with". Dexter was held responsible, and he's paying Phil back the money through his wages.
No one knows Cindy took the money, but a few eybrows have been raised at her mysteriously coming into possession of some expensive gear (e.g. a new phone), so I think that story will bubble away for a while...

Eugene's Lair

After the removal of Dex's kidney he seemed fine but I knew there would be the usual hospital scene later. Any time whether an adult or child ends up in hospital one minute they're recovering and next there's a relapse/crisis where everyone panics, just like happened tonight.

I'm still waiting for Shirley to turn up, last we saw of her a few weeks ago she was in the garage challenging the latest bad boy Carl..EE's always bringing in unlikeable characters so where's Shirley been hidden away

Michael's my favourite to watch and he was on form last night

He's brilliant, such a shame he's leaving

Shirley has got to turn up soon as her family are due to arrive next month I think

I'm gutted he's leaving!! with the scripts being worse than usual the last few months he's the only one I enjoy watching

From what I've read of Shirley's family they don't sound likeable...why doesn't EE change their format and fetch in likeable characters, haven't they realised that's why the viewing figures are dropping

This new producer is meant to be turning things around, they need to do something as the figures aren't looking good

The only other soap I watch is Corrie and EE could take some lessons from them. More humour is needed, more likeable and interesting characters, more light and shade in storylines instead of constantly focusing on the criminal or nasty side of characters, just my two cents

Corrie seems to be drafting in new pairs of hands left, right, and centre. I understand that Tom Hanks, after bettering Harrison Ford's disappointing audition, has been taking advice from a voice coach with the intention of taking the role of Arthur Foster, a Stalybridge businessman who buys the Taxi firm from new Rover's landlord Steve McDonald.
