I'm a little at a loss as to how all the clues added up too. The music/jewellery  box pointed to Lucy being killed at home (and also a possible drugs connection), but we sort-of knew that by Wednesday anyway.

I'm hoping that Ian will explain how he worked it out tonight, although any difference in Emma's (probably more forensic) reasoning will be difficult to account for as Lauren won't be in the live show (although I suppose there's always the possibility of DI Keeble turning up...  ).

I think Ian didn't work out that Bobby had done it and will struggle to accept Jane's account. That's assuming she tells Ian the truth or lies to protect Bobby.

Another palpable hit...

Danny is aptly named when it comes to his acting ability.

Mind you, there seem to be many close runners now!

TBH, I think it would have been obvious even to Phil that it wasn't the right moment to tell Ian that his mother was still alive...

I'm not sure Phil really gives two figs about Ian's feelings and given all their history it would have been another below the belt punch from Phil which I think he would have enjoyed and taken great delight in.

After all, it makes a change from sticking Ian's head down the loo.

A few years ago - yes, probably. However Phil and Ian's relationship has softened a lot after Lucy's death.

Also, that whole "history" between the two of them is based around Kathy, so I could understand Phil treading carefully there...

He was talking about pre-recorded scenes. Normally, EastEnders is recorded about 6 or 7 weeks in advance, so Ben Hardy would have recorded "Peter's" last scenes a while back. I didn't want to discuss spoilers earlier, but the press had photos around Christmas of Peter's farewell scene with Lauren.

Ben Hardy has left the show as of tonight, but because of his pre-recorded scenes, Peter will still be around for a few more weeks. Among other things, there's still the "Lauren's pregnant" story to be resolved, and Jacqueline Jossa recorded her last scenes (for the time-being) a few weeks ago too before going on maternity leave...

Oh gawd, I keep banging this drum, but I don't care about her either, coz she isn't the real Lauren!!

Am I the only one who thinks it was pathetic!  A typical 'whodunnit' with loads of red herrings, false leads and the revelation is so lame because they just picked the one person least likely.  I can't stand this type of writing normally because it's so manipulative and arbitrary.  The whole purpose is to make none of the normal logic for a murder fit but go along with the pretence that logical motives exist.

So a 10 year old kid kills a grown woman with a jewellery box.  How did he manage that?  He's 2/3rds her height.  It then doesn't enter his head that he might have killed her.  For a whole year and keeps quite about it, acts normally for a whole year.

I think Lucy may have been sitting down at the time. That could mean that height wasn't an issue?

Jane did say in yesterday's episode that she convinced Bobby that he hadn't killed Lucy, Though in Thursday's second episode when Bobby tells Jane he does come across as having hit Lucy in cold blood and shows no remorse. Elliot Carrington (Bobby) probably wasn't used to working as late as that (it was live) so might have been tired by then.
