I am totally lost now.......
Me too Syd! I haven't watched EE for years but thought tonight might be a bit of a trip down memory lane and so it has proved!
A gala night of old faces.
Snap! Xochi

Are you listening to the background music?
"Take on Me" by A-ha in the cafÃĐ; "Shout" by Tear for Fears in the Vic - songs that were in the charts in 1985!
That's been one thing that has stood out for me over the years, they never seem to stray from 1980's era songs.
* IMPORTANT TIMING INFORMATION *
The preview clip for the second episode gave the start time as 9.25pm - NOT 9.30 as advertised in the Radio Times...
And who's the guest star on "Death in Paradise"?
The first Mrs Beale (and Lucy's Mum) - Michelle Collins!
Kathy? What is all that about?

Oh, I dunno: there was a time when even the NME noted that the music choice in the cafÃĐ was pretty "cutting edge".
Although my favourite EE music moment was when Sharon announced Cindy Beale's return to the Square by sticking "The Bitch is Back" on the pub jukebox!
Join us at 9.25pm, as we delve into the fateful night when Lucy Beale took her final breath. #EELive #EastEnders

There were a couple I couldn't identify, but also confirmed is "Since Yesterday" by Strawberry Switchblade - another 1985 hit!
However, they also played "Never Gonna Give You Up" in the cafÃĐ - and that's from 1987...

A really funny comedian. But he was a trained actor before he started the comedy circuit. However, I've read that his role in EE is not expected to be comedic.
That little sh!t Bobby.

Pfft! He isn't even the real Bobby anyways, just like Martin isn't the real Martin. Granted Kathy looks like the real Kathy, but she can't be, coz she's dead. Ben was innocent all along coz he isn't the Ben who kills people, and I am still confused.

You Rexi, will go to bed like me, with your head in a turmoil.........Your post did make it all slightly clearer to me tho.....
Nite nite all xxx
Hehehe, someone Tweeted a close up picture of Dot being taken away in the police car with a caption saying..."Sir Alan's search for his next Apprentice continues".
Well it made me laugh.

I thought Kathy died years ago, in a car crash in another country? Edit to add it may have been Cindy

I bet it's a police protection story line coming up...wasn't her husband in S.Africa into organised crime, or something like that?

They've been talking about bringing Kathy back for years:
In 2010, Taylforth said that she wished that Kathy could come back from the dead and that it was a mistake to kill her off.Earlier that year executive producer Diederick Santer revealed that he would like to have brought back Kathy from the dead but vowed not to revive deceased characters. Taylforth reiterated her desire to return to EastEnders in 2013 and that she heard a writer in 2011 saying that producers wanted her to return and asked her if she could think of a way to bring Kathy back. She revealed that producer John Yorke told her that killing off Kathy was one of the biggest mistake they've ever made", and the writer who had decided to kill off Kathy regretted it afterwards, though said it was a "good idea at the time".
That cliffhanger was absolutely pathetic
I had to record it last night, (football), and didn't realise there was another episode, went to sleep disappointed thinking it was Jane, until this morning when they announced the killer as Bobby on Good Morning Britain, just watched it on Iplayer!
Thanks for the info on the music box Eugene and El Loro, although it still wouldn't have helped me get the answer, I will never make Miss Marple
Kathy was a shocker! No wonder she walked out on all them boys in Hollyoaks when they were in so much turmoil!
