He had the gall to say,

"If you'd have got it in earlier …"

Well it would have sat there for an extra month, wouldn't it?

Exactly,

They should at least have the decency to keep you on the existing benefits until they have sorted their monumental cock-up out

Couldn't agree more

I mean, why do they think people have these benefits?

Dont they realise that life is lost impossible without them?

Flippin eck, you have to fight hard enough in the first place to actually get them...

Just a lil update

Got a letter saying all benefits will stop on 16th July - eleven days time

That's everything

So I called to ask how the claim was going

"Did you include documents?"

"Yes - as supporting evidence"

"That's why it's been uploaded on our system as 'documents' and not as a claim - so it hasn't been looked at"

We'll try to hurry it up - call back in about a week

Let’s hope they sort it out quickly for you.

It’s their error so they ought to get their finger out!

I’d call back in four or five days to see if it’s actually being dealt with.

Saint, provided that they do renew the attendance allowance which they should do, as it's on their system as having been received before the current allowance comes to an end, they should back date it if they are late.

Hopefully your claim will be accepted but don't give up if it isn't.

If they were to reject the claim, there is a process of appeal:
You would first have to apply for a mandatory reconsideration either on a CRMR1 request form or a letter. That has to be done within a month of the date on the refusal letter, not a month from when you got it.
They take time to reply and it's likely that they would reject it.
But then you take the next step of appealing to a tribunal where there's a much better chance of success.
Lots more about this on the Citizens Advice site:

@Yogi19 yes I did on Friday gone - thanks for asking

All he said was it had been forwarded for consideration and knew nothing more

Was just thinking about calling tomorrow

Will let you know but he did say all benefits will stop, when I challenged him as it was their mistake it had not been considered he said I would have to contact each individual benefit section independently … but it's them that have already written saying they will stop.

So

Will contact them tomorrow

Sainty, it a right f**k up. They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves

Pardon my β€˜french’

Why would they upload my claim as a "documents file"??

What does that mean - when do they do that!!!

Of course I included 'supporting evidence' in the form of documents - like the last time I claimed and with my Dad's claim.

All they said is they would forward it for consideration telling them it runs out on the 16th

That is just their way of saying β€œyou’ll get it when we get around to it”

I have a lot to do with them over the years and they are an absolute waste of space. They ask for stuff. You send it. Then they can’t find what you have sent or its β€œnot arrived.” Their way of saying β€œwe have lost it.”

I dunno what to suggest Sainty. I wish I did mate

 The error is theirs.

Ask to speak to someone more senior, or you’re going to contact your MP.

So same as usual

"It's been handed on as a priority but cannot help you further"

They did say there was a MINIMUM of 12 weeks to process a claim and mine has only been lying around for 8/9 weeks.

So all monies will be back dated

Just as well I have my Dad's DLA to see me through.

She said call back on Tuesday (when my claim will have been cancelled for 2 days) … so I said I would call back on Monday
