What Duran Duran song would you put in the worst song ever Prom? As a goth, I bet they irritated the hell out of you back in the day but when compared to the boy band dross we've had since, Duran Duran are surely not so bad?

Yes, I absolutely hated them . If I had to choose just one it would be Hungry Like The Wolf what unutterably vile excrement in the guise of music they foisted upon us with that thing and Le Bon was squeaking even more than usual as though his tuneless bleating could disguise the utter horror of the whole thing. Suffice to say IT DID NOT
Hungry Like the Wolf was an ok pop song but it did quite annoy me at the time. I suppose the song they were most reviled for was "Rio", but I like that. Being around at the time, they were viewed by NME types as part of the new clean cut superficial Thatcherite pop groups who spurned the anti establishment sentiment of the punk era in favour of making money and consumerism.
I liked them, not necessarily for how they marketed themselves, but more that they did write quite catchy pop songs, did experiment with their sound and certainly had a lot more musical integrity about them than the likes Take That or New Kids on the Block etc.

I know where you're coming from Carnelian but the sound of Le Bon's voice just makes me cringe. Hopelessly affected and embarrassingly bad in a technical sense. We're not going to agree on this one matey
It was nice to see a proper live band playing again.
That's about it.
That's about it.
I liked them when young, still like them now
I thought it was a great show, the sound was great, could of been a bit longer,
Duran are one of my fav groups, The new album is on route now, Although I did download it in December, I'm off to some of the tour dates on May, I first saw them live in 1981 supporting Hazel O'Connor, I knew then they would be massive.
I applied for tickets for the recording of last nights show, but only got reserve list,
Hopfully with last nights show, this album will do really well for them, over night the greatest hit shot up to 11 on itunes.
