what's the verdict then?
I like... I liked a lot until the BBC webby pointed out Charles Saatchi is a fan of the buttoned up shirt/no tie and dark suit look. I'm sure I'll get over it though.

Buttoned up collars with no ties should be two years minimum.
The red lined coat is fantastic, but he's a bit old to be wearing DMs i.m.o.

I like the coat but not keen on the buttoned up collar and no tie.
I like the buttoned up shirt/ no tie look. Not too keen on the red lining. Love the waistcoat and the DMs.
It`s sort of a sophisticated teddyboy look. Yep, I like it.

only if you're him

Really? Isn't he only about 937?

They seem to have moved upmarket.

No, but they last a bloomin' lifetime!
The waistcoat/skinny trousers alignment seems to accentuate a part of the look.

Mine didnae. The binmen knocked them.
Went lovely with a black Christian Dior pinstripe and a crew cut.
You see that pointy thing he's doing with his fingers splayed out? I spent ages last night trying to do that [yep I'm a saddo] but couldn't [fingers too short].

Red lined coats are the sign of a man whose his own man!
You tend to have an affection for the Doctor(s) you grew up with - in my case Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker.
But for me David Tennant was outstanding.
Didn't like Christopher Ecclestone or Matt Smith so don't watch it any more.
As soon as the Daleks flew that was it for me.
The whole point was that they got their power from the floor below them and that was their Achilles heel.
Stairs etc. were unclimbable showing they weren't infallible.
But I guess they have to move on.

that made me spit my tea on my screen
personally I love the outfit
I think it's proper stylish
I like it a lot, the only minor criticism is that I don't think trousers that tight in the leg always suit everyone, with big shoes/boots the legs look like golf clubs.
Having said that, I am going to see if I can adopt it as my new style.
I adore it! It's a sort of nod back to Jon Pertwee's costume...I wonder if that is a clue as to how he's going to play it??!! After the quirkiness and geekiness of Matt and David, it is good to see a totally different look. I really am more than a little excited to see what Peter does with the role..these teaser pics are making me wish it was Autumn already...how the chuff are us Whovians supposed to survive until then for our next dose??!!
My MrB would look so glorious in the new Doctor's outfit...mind you,his rower's thighs might be more than those trousers can handle!!
Oh yeah,,,and for those who can remember that far back...I didn't get the Sylvester McCoy tank top for Xmas so no pics of me in it!! I did, however, get some rather fabulous Dr Who mugs and teapots (teasets are another of my obsessions!!) some of the mugs are of the Doctors various faces...cool, yet also a bit disturbing!! I can drink tea from their heads!!!
I wondered when you'd get here, Mrs B! Autumn.... we have to wait until AUTUMN?? I love the sound of those mugs btw!
EC.... I can SO see you in that outfit! (OK, I have no idea what you look like, but now you're somewhere between Sean Connery and Peter Capaldi in my head...)

How do they look Mrs B? Wanted to get them as Xmas presents for my Bruv, but the nice ones were sold out on Amazon
He did get a load of other Dr Who stuff though - silicone moulds, silver floating tardis pen, annual, calendar and tardis diary
He gets Dr Who stuff every year

Ah Yogi, you flatter me.
Although I do think Sean Connery circa Goldfinger was a good looking bloke and a very smart suit wearer.

I do apologise, I was reading a Yogi post and must have retained the name in my limited 'man' headspace
