Awww thankyou so much Cosi....I'd come to the conclusion I was missing this seasons Spooks but now I can watch both....

I never watched Downton anyway. I'll prolly record Spooks though so I can watch in peace without getting distracted on here  

So happy Scottish TV are showing the new Downton, all is well in my world 

Downtown for me, but I don't watch spooks (sorry) but if I did I would sky+ them, these days we CAN and WILL watch both & more

in my fluffy wuffy happy ending version..   this series would be a run up to Harry's retirement buffet..   the whip round, the signing of his card..     & then off he would skip, to his happy little cottage called "dunroamin" where he would be blissfullly pottering about in the garden & playing along to Countdown

No! Apparently I was being silly when Ashley was killed off in Coronation Street, and I suggested that he would be the new leader of Section D.

So happy aswell that I'll be able to watch it relaxing in bed..

I was never going to watch Downton cos of Maggie Smith cos she normally does my head in but she's absolutely fantastic in it....

I've never watched either of them but I thought I might give Downton a whirl if I remember.

For those with digital TV, there is another option with ITV+1, so watch Spooks, followed by Downton Abbey.

Watch neither, it works for me!

If so yes it was on last year with Richard Armitage as the main character who was kidnapped at the end.  This series has the lovely Philip Winchester as the main character (who's actually an American who does a fantastic English accent) and Connie Beauchamp from Holby City playing a General and Jimi Mistry   I likes it - kinda like Spooks in a way but Army instead of MI5
