I MUST STAY STRONG!!!! I'm a bugger for the spoilers but - I really don't want to know!
I watched last week's today........ and glad that horrid lad got his comeuppance
<<<<<me.
I am off to buy the boxset after work...MrB and me plan to spend Sunday watching both series back to back!!!
Bloody Lavvy...even in death she cocks things up for M&M And I think I managed to synchronise my lip wobbling with poor Anna at the end....the most eye leaking moment of the series
On the plus side....Lady G had me in fits tring to work out how to make Branson more appealing to the posh peeps!!! In fact she was very funny throughout...and just enough to counteract the sadness. Also loved the Docs eye rolling when Violet offered her help during the flu crisis....brilliant!!
My lips even gave a wobble for Miss O'B .....she was fantastic...and I'm sure it wasn't all guilt led....maybe now she will feel she has gone some way to making amends. And how long before Thomas is trying to undermine the lovely Carson?? Maybe Carson WILL go with Mary and Thomas will take his place at Downton....unless Bates is saved from the gallows.....*sobs*
Edith also managed to get some sympathy from me too....I really hope they don't make her into the Spinster of the parish....where did Patrick go???? Did I miss what happened to him????
So chuffed that Jane has gone too....that story really did have any place in the series....just didn't sit right at all....although I did think for a few minutes that it was goig to turn out that Lord G was Freddie's daddy.....panic over!!! And there will be no more Ethel either as Amy Nuttall isn't coming back...but good on Ethel for doing the right thing...I wouldn't want my child to live with a git like that, no matter how rich!
So it's looking less and less likely that M&M will get together and that she will marry the foul Carliar instead....grrrrrrrrrrr....we can only hope that Matthew sees the light and, in true Alfie Moon fashion, crashes the wedding and begs Mary to run away with him (Mr Fellowes can have that one free of charge)....why can't they be as strong as Sybil and Tom??? Glad Lord G sent them on their way with his blessing....wouldn't have sat right if he hadn't....
Also thought for a while that William's dad was going to try it on with Daisy....will look out for him in series three cos I have a feeling there is more to come there....
As for Mr and Mrs Bates...what a blooming blubfest that was!!!! Bless Mary for arranging the wedding night for them....odds on there being a mini-Bates as a result??!!! I am still dithering over whether or not Bates did kill Vile Vera....I so hope he didn't....my heart would probably break along side Annas!! Loved Carson's face as the realisation that they were married sunk in...brilliant!! But it was Joanne Froggat who stole the show in the final scene....she looked so tragic...
Roll on Christmas....all I want for Christmas is for Mr and Mrs Bates to be back together and for M&M to stop faffing and get on with it!!! (well....I want all MY pressies too...obviously!!!)
Cant add anything to that Mrs B Got series one boxset, sister getting me series two as a late birthday present .Cant wait for the Christmas special !
I was beginning to think Lavvy would survive and take our Matthew away but well done girl, she took one for the team
The most interesting thing about Cora was the blood oozing from her nose - then she survived and spoiled it I too am glad the silly Mary has gone as well as Ethel They're never going to get rid of Thomas - he'll hang around like a bad smell
Thought Lord G gave into Sybil and Branson far too easily - I wanted to see more of a fight
Can't believe we have to wait till Christmas for our next instalment
I've just watched the finale... my V+ recording cut out before the end credits - double
It stopped as Bates was led away in handcuffs.. did I miss anything else?
Good old Lavvie... best thing she ever did.. popping off. I think Mary will marry the sleaze but there will be shenninigans with Matthew.
Thanks, summer.. I thought so - but I wanted to check!
I missed Downton but I've got the Garrow's law to console me for 4 weeks
Since no-one else has mentioned it...... According to today's Grauniad, Shirley McLaine is in series three as Lady Grantham's Mama.
I read that this morning - i think it's brilliant casting.. and quite a feather in their cap!
I'm hoping she'll be a match for her, Sweet - I think they could be a brilliant pairing.
return date confirmed.
Yaaayyyyy!!! thanks for that erinp..
Thanks erin, cant wait !!

Hi Mrs B , i was wondering when you would pop up
Baz needs Specsavers
Indeed! I do elaborate pretty damned well, thankyou.
They all say that I am marked by complexity, ornateness, and detail.
Or mebbees you want me to explain more fully..... Yesterday's Sunday Times magazine had him on the cover and several pages writing which I couldn't bring myself to read. There were also many photos of him looking, if I may say so, like a total fanny.
I can read up on him for a small fee inclusive of VAT.
