Alas! Mrs Jer is a workaholic and uses the PC for creative purposes. May I refer you to my previous comment, Mrs Jer meks me watch the X Factor in a complex MOTD trade off scenario. Neither of us would watch Downton in a choice between Spooks or even Stephen Fry's language prog. So she makes me watch on catchup on a night with no tellybox highlights. Creatures of habit, we watch 9 o clock type timed stuff. Doc Martin, Hidden, and the pisspoor DCI Banks.

........ and there is still Wallander to watch on catchup. I've no idea how we will manage when the Killing returns.

Can't wait for next week!!! I'm reckon that the burned bloke is obviously one of the nephews who was thought to have died on the Titanic and he will be the new heir leaving the scrummy Matthew crippled and titleless.....meanwhile, Mary will see the light and refuse Carlisle and he will try to ruin her by using that story from Vera....she will realise that she loves Matthew whatever his situation and they will happily ever after! Or maybe not, but I do hope so!!

Hi Summer, yes i think she is hiding something, not sure what exactly, but she has checked Thomas a couple of times for saying something nasty about that footman who left with shell shock. She sort of looks as if she is remembering something. Not sure where i am going with this, but something has made her so bitter thats for sure! Her relationship with Thomas is odd too, i think.

I admit to being surprised by Lavinia's reaction to Mathew's situation. I thought she would want to run a mile.

Lady Mary can't marry Sir Richard, she should be with Mathew.

The shell shock thing was a rellie of hers who had suffered from it too...possibly brother??? She told Mr Lang about it when he was getting a footman's uniform a few episodes back. She was telling him how she understood etc and there was no shame in it....

I hope the trailer for next week didn't show Carson leaving for good

I was quite surprised by Lavvy's reaction too Yogi! I so wanted it to be used as an excuse to get rid of her!!! Mind you...imagine how much your hormones would go into overdrive being married to the delicious Matthew and knowing that a certain part of him didn't work!!! Mary should marry him and they could adopt Ethel's baby
