I was a bit disappointed with it  A bit too rushed tying up ends, plus i thought the storyline with Mr Bates would be more exciting. I wondered as there were so many adverts after 10 when Bates said he was off to York, that some of it had been cut/edited. Maybe due to the backlash of the Anna storyline??? It just didnt make sense. Plus old Lady Grantham took Edith,s pregnancy a bit too well, a bit out of character i thought.
Looking forward to the Christmas episode though

Obviously we're all meant to suspect Bates but I'm guessing they won't even run with that storyline.  He'll be proved to have been in York all the time; it was just to keep us on tenterhooks until Crimbo.

And my theory that Thomas would have a hand in Dirty Den jnr's demise is way off beam! Darnit

I'm loving Molesley and Baxter; hope that one rolls along.

Oh yeah - I'm really liking that too!    I don't think it was Mr Bates - but you never know.   I'm worried that Anna's obvious suspicion might cause friction between them though, maybe that'll be a theme at Chrimbo and will end with the unveiling of what really happened and a happy ending.   Surely we can't have anohter Christmas special ending with Mary finding love?

Bit what if Dirty Den returned from the US via London? It would fit the timeline but ......what motive?

Now you've confused me.  Dirty Den jnr wasn't in the US, was he?

He was at Downton prior to going back to London - hence the kerfuffle to get Bates to stay at Downton.  It was Thomas who took Bates' place and went to the US as Lord G's valet.

I think?

Sorry I got confused ............Thomas may have come back via London. Could he have had a hand in it?
