David Cameron has held crisis talks at Downing Street after being told of allegations of a sensational love affair which has potentially significant political implications for him.
For legal reasons, The Mail on Sunday cannot disclose the identities of the people involved or any details of the relationship β even its duration β other than that they are middle-aged figures. The affair has now concluded.
But this newspaper can report that when aides told Mr Cameron the identities of the alleged lovers he was βstunnedβ, and, according to sources, βimmediately realised the importance of the storyβ.
The Prime Minister and his aides also discussed the possible fallout should details of the affair become public β and how such disclosure could βblow out of the waterβ any major political set pieces planned by No 10.
One senior source told this newspaper last night: βThis revelation is dynamite. None of us could believe it when we first heard it. Then we just thought, βWhat a complete mess

I wonder if it's same sex affair and that's why it will have major fallout.
Hague and mystery person
Heard about this earlier. Don't know what to think, any combination in the Cabinet sounds quite sick

Whoever it is and between who I can't wait to hear about this one! Move over Nigel Evans! (unless it is him).
Oh no. I know the MP's like a bit of pussy, but I really hope Larry wasn't involved.
The tide has already surged Carport. Much as I hate to say it, Cameron will be one to turn out to be one of the good guys.
Bog help us then.
NO! I still have mental scars of him doing Edwina Currie
Newsflash. 3 Peers are being investigated about taking cash for questions.
It's like bloody groundhog day.
Guido Fawkes's twitter has named names allegedly
Had a look on Ickes forum and some interesting opinions on why Cable could be named .
Can't wait to find out though. Bet Notting Hill is ablaze tonight. Might canvass my little Parliamentary annex of Kennington in the morning, see how the land lays lol
It appears that two middle aged cabinet ministers (both married) have been shagging each other. The affair has now ended. The Daily Mail has the story and knows the names but cannot print them for βlegal reasons.β Call Me Dave is said to be shit scared as this is explosive and will apparently blow him off course. Er β¦what course?
Given that the Cabinet contains a good few closet homosexuals we should not assume that this affair involves any women. A few of the Cabinet, like Sir George Young, are too old to be runners and riders in the great Downing Street sex scandal. But elsewhere who knows?
Cash for questions, back to basics sex scandals it is right back to 1995β¦all we need now is a new single from Oasis and a battle with the next release from Blur.
Not seeing this story on the BBC site - you would have thought crisis talks at No.10 would get reported.

The beeb will be covering all their arses, so to speak, before they make a comment. Anyone watching Sky News?

Scrub that. There's an item about seals atm.
I wonder if it's cross party affair.
Agreed in this instance. Maybe I'm becoming an official old fart!
Seems its 2 Labour peers and 1 Tory peer. Un-named atm.

McKenzie, Cunningham and an Ulster Unionist have been named I think Xochi

Thanks Slinkeh. That's a well mediated report as you'd expect from Greenslade.
The "crisis" wasn't mentioned on Sky News...I thought it would be top story but Turkey was - can't see mention of it on Sky's website either. Has the story been shut down

Must be Yella. So wrong constitutionally. Hopefully there'll be an examination about this.

Normally they'd jump at the chance of making this headline news, strange.
Of course it begs the question (apparently) that if you had to cop off with an MP - which wud it be?
