Thank goodness I didn't post because I wasn't thinking of 'to understand' quite in those terms.

Before I say what I think 'to understand' means I need some help: Can I 'get' someone's posting style, humour etc. but wholeheartedly dislike them? (That happens to me but Deegs doesn't seem to be asking about that.)
