Try method 1 first - reset the internet explorer settings.

If that doesn't work then try method 2 which involves reinstalling Internet Explorer.

I'd get new guys, there is a massive security problem - we got a bulletin last Friday from Microsoft with information about security patches (updates). They have already been applied. At work that is

Just heard that a guy I know was called by Microsoft and they explained that they were aware of the problems on his computer and to rectify it they will have to do so from their end ,they asked him to switch his computer on and and they would clean it from their end remotely.

He has now been advised to contact his bank as this looks and sounds like a scam.

I got a call from them and the guy asked me if I woukld take part in a survey about microsoft service  by answering a few questions.. I declined.

Thanks erinp for bringing this scam to people's attention

Microsoft have a policy of not ringing people saying there's a problem with their computer so there is no doubt it is a scam.

Some of the scammers are out and out criminals who are out to get your credit card details and to plant trojan viruses on your computer.

Others are just unscruplous businesses (at least one is in the UK and used to be a Microsoft partner until Microsoft sacked them) who will try to convince you that there is a problem on your computer in order to sell you software which you probably don't need.
