Sorry Ev, I've only started watching recently. Who said that George was aware that Caylee was dead?

The defence for Casey, he hasnt admitted to this, but admitted to throwing out some trash by accident over a wall from the white car of Casey's , this trash being casey in her blanket wrapped up, in a plastic bag!

So, it's just something the defence have suggested. Okay, thanks Ev.

Because the shed had been broken into this time, and because there had been a spate of thefts in the area.

It is what they have suggested yes.

I dont believe the drowning theory of the defense.

I also don't believe George would not be suspicious of the bag from  Casey's car, the bag  he threw out that was Caylees body.

Yes but he knew Casey had took them before, so why not ask her if she had first?

Do we know for certain that the bag George threw out of the car was the same bag which Caylee was in - or is this another defence lawyers theory?

I'm guessing it was because she had never before broken the lock on the shed to get the gas cans.

George mentioned it yesterday, about the trash bag, it just doesn't add up, that he got rid of a trash bag in the way he described  during the time caylee was missing , he did mention he got rid of trash over a wall. Not sure where  from though.

Regarding the gas cans, its not really normal behaviour to go to police and report that 2 missing gas cans were missing,  when he knew his daughter often took 2 gas cans, he admitted to saying on stand he knew Casey had took them before. You would have thought he would have asked her first.

Oh my goodness Ev.

George went to collect Casey`s car from the yard that picked up her dumped car. He and a yard worker approached the car and smelled something awful. They both agreed it smelled like decomposition. They opened the boot (trunk) and there was a bag of rubbish. George tossed it over a wall.  Witnessed by the yard worker. The FBI retrieved it and it was filled with rotting food etc. Not Caylee in her blanket wrapped up in plastic bag!

No offence Ev but not even the desperate defense team have claimed that.

I thought she was living with Tony at this time, and not staying at home. So perhaps George wouldn't have expected her to return home, break the shed lock, take the gas cans and not even leave a note to say she had taken the gas cans. But I'm just guessing.

His main report was that his shed had being broken into, locks snapped. His report also included the gas cans were missing.

She helped herself to gas before the locks were put on.

He didn`t suspect that it was Casey who had broken into the shed.

She was the one who eventually told him she had the cans - when he tried to retrieve a work tool from the boot of her car and she blocked him from opening it ( wonder why?) saying " Here`s your fu**ing gas cans and drove off.

ok thanks

when George was on the stand, he told prosecution on the day he reported the gas cans missing to the police he had taken a day off work to go to a job interview. After he filed the report he and his wife went to pay a cheque in the bank, he dropped her at work, went and bought 2 new gas cans and went home. When he was at home Casey turned up and was in a rush getting a change of clothes. He said he asked her if she had taken the gas cans because there had been numerous occasions in the past that gas had gone missing and he had been suspicious that it was her despite her denying it. In order to gather evidence he said he needed tyre irons out of her car to rotate her Mums tyres that weekend and she stopped him going in the car, when he was heading towards it she ran ahead, got the gas cans, shoved them at him and said "here's your ****ing gas cans" and then she left.
I was confused as to why, if he thought Casey was stealing gas, when he found them missing, and nothing else, he didn't just presume the same thing and either phone her and ask her, or leave it like he had done in the past? Why did he file a report for 2 gas cans on 24th May? I think it's quite significant

Maybe he got sick of her stealing gas and so decided he was going to report the theft this time. I'm still guessing.

  • Lets look at some of the questions arising from George reporting 2 gas cans missing.

Why did he report them stolento Police, when he accused Casey of stealing them, he had suspicions It was Casey  taking them and STILL reported them.
He got sick of her stealing them and so he reported them stolen to Police. Is this a natural action of a loving doting Father. ?

It may be crucial evidence in this case and it just so happens on 24th May he reported them missing, and later when the house is searched when Caylee has been reported missing, they find the gas cans with the duct tape on. Maybe he meant to get rid of them and forgot? Whatever the reason they are crucial and his actions can be looked on as  suspicious

Baez wants to prove that George led the police to Casey. The ductape that was found on Caylees face was also found on the gas cans that were in the shed. Casey used them and while George knew that she would use them, he still went to the police to tell them that someone stole his gas cans.

I can see where you're going but ...............if he really is as calculating as this I'm pretty sure he wouldn't simply forget to get rid of them would he?

She didn`t steal the gas cans before. She was only stealing the gas, pouring into her car then leaving.

This was the first time the gas cans had gone missing.

Not every piece is in place, not sure if he did forget to get rid of them,  these are just speculations based on facts.

Now, if he was so suspicious that she had taken the gas cans, why did he report it to the police? Why did he not mention to the police or his neighbour that Casey might have taken them? It doesn't add up! I'm just puzzled as to why he reported them to the police, such a trivial thing and he already thought Casey had taken them.

He knew Casey used the gas cans, these gas cans led to the finding of the body (or were connected somehow) A possibility that He was covering his back as he knew at this point Caylee was dead and he wanted it pinned on Casey? maybe

As we know the duct tape on them is an industrial duct tape and rarely found in homes, the same duct tape covering Caylee's mouth and nose when found.

Its the only physical evidence they have linking them with her dead body as no dna, hairs etc etc were found connecting them.

Baez should have pushed this questioning further as George was riled by it

A better defence may have done as Bonzo is crap

Well if everyone believed the same we should have electrocuted her in 2008 then,  lol Its a good job she isnt convicted without a trial.

No point in trials and innocent until proven guilty.

It looked like he really wanted to do that but his line of questioning was denied over and over again. I'm reserving judgement at the moment - don't know enough and I missed the opening day. Fascinating stuff!

This was the first time the gas cans had gone missing.

He thought there had been a break in.

On June 24, George Anthony called police to report the break-in and report the gas cans missing. He testified that he saw his daughter later in the day and argued with her about the missing cans, because he had a hunch she had them. She had taken the gas cans before, he said.

This is reported from the witness stand  ^^
